Welcome!
Welcome to Wikipedia, Inmysolitude! I am Yousaf465 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

AFD
On AFD the section header goes inside the closure tags underneat your closure comments. See this edit for an example of what I mean and please keep it in mind for your next closure. - Mgm|(talk) 09:50, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Articles for Deletion
Hello. Welcome to Wikipedia! Please allow AFD to run he full five days before closing, most especially if the discussion is not unanimous. Thank you, NonvocalScream (talk) 10:36, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Steve Crane
Recreating someone else's copyrighted content without meeting the licensing terms is copyright infringement, and will not be tolerated. Don't expect another warning. If you want to dispute a speedy deletion, either ask me or take it to DRV (though the latter will tell you to do the former first). Cheers, WilyD 15:20, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it is. Unless otherwise noted, text submitted to Wikipedia is licensed under the terms of the GNU free document licence, and remains copyrighted by it's creator. The text of the article on Steve Crane was the intellectual property of User:WikiGull.
- Also, for the love of peat, please read WP:OWN before trying to apply it. WilyD 15:25, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- All of that remains false too. The GFDL is owned by the Free Software Foundation. The content one submits to Wikipedia, where sufficient intellectual effort is put into it that it attracts copyright, is copyrighted. I own the copyright to this paragraph. I have licensed it under the terms of the GNU Free Document Licence, and anyone who abides by the terms of that licence may use it in any legal way compatible with the terms of the licence. Similarly, WikiGull owns the copyright to the Steve Crane article. Wikipedia (or the Wikimedia Foundation, actually) owns the copyright to almost nothing (there's a few legal statement pages, and the logo - I think that's all). You might think that my choice to G7 the article was a poor one - if so, you should discuss it with me, and if you fail to convince me, open a DRV. WilyD 15:35, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated.
Your persistant copyright violation has left me with no other option than to block your account to prevent further illegal actions. WilyD 15:37, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- That was rather unfair to block me WIlyD. Particularly since I am still not convinced this is a copywright violation. I would like to take this to WP:ANI now but am unfortunately unable to do so. I hope another editor will step up and challenge this bad decision. You basically ignored an ongoing AFD and thereby undermined the collaborative editing process at wikipedia. Bad move.Inmysolitude (talk) 15:44, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- I told you not to violate copyright, warned you it wouldn't be tolerated, and you continued to do so. In the future, if you don't want to be blocked for posting copyright violations, don't post copyright violations. It's not difficult. The correct forum for challenging my speedy deletions is still User talk:WilyD, and failing that WP:DRV. WilyD 15:55, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
