Hi there

[edit]

Thanks for contributing that excellent article on weight loss, I certainly don't think it should be deleted or is overly-promotional. You probably don't realise that we get hundreds of terrible and completely promotional articles every day, so people can become a bit quick on the trigger after spending a long time dealing with the influx. Have you considered joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine? There are quite a few experienced editors that work in this field. Anyway, if I can help in any way in the future please drop me a note on my talkpage. All the best Tim Vickers (talk) 18:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, rather rude and ill-informed I'd say. I've finished merging your contributions into the Bariatrics article. Now with a single article it is much more comprehensive. I'd encourage you to expand this - you seem to have a good appreciation of the field. Tim Vickers (talk) 00:35, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On your request I have courtesy blanked Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Medical weight loss. I agree that some of the comments were rather inappropriate. If you think that website (which I haven't looked at in detail) would be a good external link for the bariatrics article please add it. If you have any questions about what are appropriate external inks there is a guideline at Wikipedia:External links that explains what is the generally-accepted approach. I'm very sorry that you got caught up in this. Medical articles are not usually so contentious! Tim Vickers (talk) 01:02, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
