Anton incident

[edit]

If you do not think WP:BLP is not a serious issue with the Anton incident, you should say so at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anton Salonen. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 06:23, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User Kingalex56

[edit]
Moved from User talk:Petri Krohn#RE: Anton Incident

One thing: That's my old account name. I've been using my new username (InfiniteHunter) since 16 May 2009. Anything done with my old account (Kingalex56) has no connection to me whatsoever. You might have gotten confused since User talk:Kingalex56 redirects to User talk:InfiniteHunter. Also, all edits done to the Anton Incident page are listed in the history as being modified by Kingalex56, not InfiniteHunter.InfiniteHunter (talk) 06:34, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then who is Kingalex56 (talk · contribs)? -- Petri Krohn (talk) 06:36, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is a little bit unusual. Possible sock puppetry? Peltimikko (talk) 12:44, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea who this person is, although I am a bit flattered they chose my previous username :). My guess is it could just be a new account and a complete coincidence. If it's someone's sock puppet, then it's not mine. InfiniteHunter (talk) 15:51, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Doubt it's a coincidence. Kingalex56 became InfiniteHunter on May 16, and the user pages were moved to InfiniteHunter. A new account Kingalex56 registered on May 22. Since the user page was a redirect to InfiniteHunter, I'm a bit surprised that this could be done. The redirects have been removed, but, really, the new user should probably be blocked -- encouraged to pick a new name -- and the redirects replaced. --Abd (talk) 03:28, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The redirects were made by Kingturtle (talk · contribs) on May 16 when he administered the namechange. It is odd that MediaWiki allows old usernames to be reused. -- Petri Krohn (talk) 05:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Perhaps redirects like that should be protected, and the software should not allow the creation of a user name where there exists a protected username file. --Abd (talk) 15:31, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
