User talk:Indigoball
June 2024
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Veerannapalya metro station. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:58, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- I understand but it was for metro stations under Namma Metro and many other pages for other upcoming stations have been created. My only problem was them reverting it. Then why do other pages exist and not these? Indigoball (talk) 01:39, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- There are notability requirements for metro stations. See WP:STATION where it says
For proposed or planned stations, historic railways stations that only existed briefly, or stations on metro, light rail, tram, people mover, or heritage railway lines, if insufficient source material is available for a comprehensive article, it is better to mention the station in an article about the line or system that the station is on.
The Veerannapalya metro station article is far from being comprehensive. - If you disagree over an edit, you need to discuss the disagreement with the other editor(s). Don't just keep reverting and don't edit war. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 07:43, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'd add that in general, subjects of articles are expected to meet WP:GNG. If you can't identify several paragraphs of text across multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the train station, information about the station should just be added to the article about the line it belongs to. signed, Rosguill talk 19:30, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Then please do it for all stations. Who wants pages about metro stations? No one opens them. Correctly done. I would like it if you do the same for all stations across the world since they also need independent sources. Indigoball (talk) 01:20, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
