Rajnikanth

[edit]

July 2011

Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to Rajinikanth, without providing a source and without establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. First of all Rajinikanth isn't a Kannada name. It's a screen name given by a Tamil film-maker. If you have any problems use the talk page of the article. Commander (Ping Me) 17:12, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Rajinikanth. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. You have been given enough explanations already. Use the talk page before making further edits Commander (Ping Me) 07:27, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lynch7 19:21, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rajinikanth. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Lynch7 19:50, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello Indian born,

This is an automated friendly notification to inform you that you have been reported for Violation of the Edit warring policy at the Administrators' noticeboard.
If you feel that this report has been made in error, please reply as soon as possible on the noticeboard. Rajinikanth

[edit]

Do not make unreferenced changes to Rajinikanth. Karnataka was called Mysore State prior to 1973 (see the Karnataka article). Also, do not add Rajinikanth's name in the Kannada script in the lead paragraph. His name should only be in Tamil since "Rajinikanth" is a Tamil name and it will only cause clutter to the lead to have his name is more than one language. Looking at your previous messages above, you have been warned about edit warring/reverting too much. Be aware that if you do this again your account will end up being blocked. Edit with care. Thanks. EelamStyleZ (talk) 01:05, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See first of all try to understand what others say. We have included only the Tamil transliteration of "Rajinikanth" and not "Shivaji Rao Gaikwad" as it's a Marathi name. Your inclusion of all Kannada films under "notable filmography" is totally irrelevant. He has done only eleven films in Kannada. He has done more films in Hindi and Telugu than Kannada. The complete filmography is listed under Rajinikanth filmography which you can find at the top of the Notable filmography section. Hope everything is clear now. --Commander (Ping Me) 06:39, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your editing behavior

[edit]

Hi. I would like to express some concerns with you regarding your editing behavior. Please see Wikipedia's policies regarding verifiability. You should not add content to articles that is not attributed to a reliable source. You should also discuss controversial edits on the article talk page rather than repeatedly reapplying them. You have been reported twice for edit warring and, though I am not going to block you because some time has passed since the incident occurred, please consider this your final warning that further edit warring behavior or further disruptive editing will result in a block. If you want to participate in a collaborative project, then you need to be willing to discuss your edits. --B (talk) 16:43, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. B (talk) 19:37, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
