License tagging for Image:End fvf1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:End fvf1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:07, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, and sorry for not replying sooner, I noticed that you already went ahead and fixed some of the problems, and I myself cleaned up the article a bit already, but here is some more advice concerning the article:

  • The main problem with the Motör Militia article was that it contained too many peacock terms and may still contain a few. Instead of saying Motör Militia is famous or well-known, let it be implied in the information itself.
  • Another problem with the article that still remains, is the fact that the entire article focuses on the band's school experiences. There is no mention of the band ever getting signed by a record label or the band recording their debut album.
  • I believe the biography could be further reworded to be shorter while still containing all the relevant information about Motör Militia. There are some spots in the article where it just starts talking about other artists or bands that are not relevant to the Motör Militia article.
  • A link to metal-archives.com cannot be allowed because that website does not meet the WP:EL criteria for inclusion into Wikipedia (it's not a reliable source).
  • Also the article needs a members section.

Apart from the advice above, I recommend you read WP:PEACOCK. --Leon Sword 20:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, a lot of stuff makes sense now, well I'll do the members section myself so you will see what it looks like and you can continue to finish up the article. --Leon Sword 20:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Removed the cleanup tag since I will continue to work on the article as well. --Leon Sword 21:01, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AAKarticle1.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AAKarticle1.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:13, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Dark Reign

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Dark Reign, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mdsummermsw (talk) 18:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Conflict of Interest

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article The Dark Reign‎, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. Rollback

[edit]

Rollback wouldn't help in this situation. The best way to clean up the article is to find the version in the history that is closest to being what it should be. When you are viewing that version, click on the "Edit" tab and make any other changes that are needed. Then save it. You'll be warned that you are editing an old version of the article, but since that is your intention, ignore the warning. Let me know if you have any questions. -- SamuelWantman 03:43, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can request Semi-protection, but I don't think that you are at that point yet. Have you tried discussing the problem with the involved parties? -- SamuelWantman 06:49, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection

[edit]

I've protected the page for 2 weeks. Let me know if the problems continue. Where is your attempt to discuss the problem with the anon. editor? -- SamuelWantman 05:17, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Mahmood & Khalifa @ Guitar Club.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Martin H. (talk) 14:15, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:Sound of Violence promo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The file File:Motor militia34.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
