[edit]Please do not attack other editors, as you did at List of Indian states and union territories by GDP. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. power~enwiki (π, ν) 03:08, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Edit warring
[edit]Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Consensus on the page: List of Indian states and union territories by GDP
[edit]I am creating a consensus thread here. Please state your restrictions on why comparing the states from different countries is problematic. If so, why there exists a comparison to the countries? Thanks Wikigura (talk) 03:49, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Your feedback matters: Final reminder to take the global Wikimedia survey
[edit]Hello! This is a final reminder that the Wikimedia Foundation survey will close on 23 April, 2018 (07:00 UTC). The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes. Take the survey now.
If you already took the survey - thank you! We will not bother you again. We have designed the survey to make it impossible to identify which users have taken the survey, so we have to send reminders to everyone. To opt-out of future surveys, send an email through EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys. You can also send any questions you have to this user email. Learn more about this survey on the project page. Your disruptive edits in List of Indian states and union territories by GDP
[edit]It's really good and not problematic at all if you spend so much time in reverting disruptive edits on article List of Indian states and union territories by GDP. But some of your own edits on this page do not appear constructive. May I ask how did you put 2017-18 figure of Rs 2.30 lakh crore for Uttarakhand and 2018-19 figure of Rs 1.57 lakh crore for Jammu and Kashmir ? Which source did you use ? The respective sources you defined for both of them nowhere mention these figures. In case of Uttarakhand, this source which you added mentions figures for GSDP or "सकल राज्य घरेलू उत्पाद" at current and constant prices from fiscal 2011-12 upto fiscal 2015-16 on pages 200 and 201 of the PDF file. From where did you get figures for 2017-18 ? And in case of Jammu and Kashmir this source (again added by you only) mentions the 2018-19 GSDP at constant prices for the state as Rs 1.17 lakh crore. Again, from where did you put the figure of Rs 1.57 lakh crore ? Ultimately, the conclusion is clear that you added your own self-imagined/ self-estimated figures and that too cleverly under the garb of updation with complex to infer "references" (for a normal reader) which actually don't back your added/ "updated" information. Whatever methodology you use for calculating your so called estimates or projections, content containing original research is prohibited on Wikipedia. Adding unsourced content and incorrect information contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiablity and is considered an act of vandalism which can lead to blocking of editing privileges.
One more thing, when I corrected Uttarakhand's figures as per your own defined State Budget source in this edit of mine, you reverted my edit telling me to "read Hindi Text "सकल घरेलू उत्पाद" In last few pages of UK Budget" in your edit summary. Wow! For your kind information, I had made the corrections as per those last few pages only and also mentioned about the page number of PDF file in my edit summary. One thing I want to make clear to you is that there is no provision of ownership of articles at Wikipedia by which you alone may be eligible to edit the content of a particular page. Necessary and constructive edits from all users will be welcomed in articles and you seem to disapprove of the same. Keeping aside the talks of past, I'm updating the correct GDP figures for 2017-18 for Uttarakhand as mentioned in the latest state budget of 2018-19 and also reverting to the 2017-18 figure for Jammu and Kashmir since figure for GDP at current prices is not available for J and K yet. Please refrain from adding unsourced and/ or incorrect information and reverting worthy edits of other users next time onward. Have a good day. Vibhss (talk) 09:25, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

For uttarakhand check source page number 204 .

Such a nice words would be appreciated if you have not commented like this .
added back 2017-18 GDP figures for J & K; the 2018-19 figures for GDP at current prices are not available yet; the previous figures here were self-estimated by this User:Ikshavaku for whom sources matter the least and his own self-imagined figures hold supreme. Anyway, even the source added by this user didn't back his figures
Ultimately, the conclusion is clear that you added your own self-imagined/ self-estimated figures and that too cleverly under the garb of updation with complex to infer "references" (for a normal reader) which actually don't back your added/ "updated" information
Please refrain from personal attacks. If you think source is not valid point out, No need to mock imaginary skills. And also please look deeper into source pages not just simple highlights. I dont have to be too clever to update simple Wiki page. And most importantly people need to be polite and stop taking things personal if someone edits their change or if they have problem with reading Hindi or understanding difference between GDP at constant prices vs current prices.
For JK check page:2 table 1, Note section. GSDP is mentioned in current prices. unlike your highlighted part of constant prices
- @Ikshavaku: I apologize for my hurried presuppostions but you see that the PDF document of Uttarakhand State Budget is very lengthy (comprising over 200 pages) and anyone will try to find something precise (GSDP in this case) in clear and obvious form, so did I. This source added by you, on its pages 201 and 202 chronologically mentions GSDP (सकल राज्य घरेलू उत्पाद) at current prices and then at constant prices for fiscal years 2011-12 to 2015-16, while the 2018-19 GSDP is mentioned on page 204 and being neither highlighted nor bolded is kind of hidden in a long list. When this is the case with the source you are defining, i.e. the source document is too long for a very precise detail such as a GDP figure, you are supposed to be considerate enough to specify the page number of PDF file (mentioning that precise detail) in it's definition as a source itself just like I did while defining 2017-18 figures with 2018-19 State Budget of Uttarakhand. That page number still persists in the source definition as you have a habit of just updating the URL in an existing source definition while keeping other parameters (even the title) in the definition as such. You specified the page number in your edit summary, not in the definition of source, which you should have. Let me tell you beforehand that I am proficient in Hindi and don't have any difficulty in inferring Hindi sources. Now, regarding 2018-19 figures for Uttarakhand mentioned in the 2017-18 State Budget, I must tell you they are projected (प्रक्षेपित) figures while the 2017-18 figures mentioned in the 223rd page of 2018-19 State Budget and added by me are advance estimates. The projected figure for 2017-18 in 2017-18 state budget (2.30 lakh crore) is significantly different from the consolidated advance estimate figure for 2017-18 (2.18 lakh crore) in 2018-19 state budget. And since advance estimates hold more credence than projected ones, I don't see anything problematic with my edits. In case of J & K too, you should have mentioned info regarding that note with Table 1 as a quote in source definition itself. This is particularly necessary, when there is a conflicting and more apparent info in the source regarding the fact/ figure for which that source is being defined (in this case, the constant prices figure for J&K which is mentioned in the very beginning of PRS source and is more apparent than current price figure in that note). I didn't intend to attack you personally in any way. I have been editing here for a significant period of time reverting vandals and their disruptive edits and in this case, I followed what was obvious and apparent; I still accept my folly.
