Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Katie Farris, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Katie Farris and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bped1985 (talk) 01:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of Katie Ferris #2

A tag has been placed on Katie Farris, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I'm not sure if it was you simply using another account, but make sure you NEVER delete a speedy deletion tag from an article. It is a very serious offense. The issue with the article is that it is written in a way that heavily promotes her new book, along with the fact that it does not assert her notability. In other words, what makes her so special that she deserves an article in an encyclopedia? Make sure you start a new subject when posting a new topic on a talk page, as you had failed to do so on mine. Also remember to sign your posts.Bped1985 (talk) 03:44, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article is tons better, the only hitch I currently see with it would be the awards given. They aren't necessarily well known like a Pulitzer. Which, again can cause notability issues. What I would suggest is maybe putting a short blurb in the article about what those awards are. I will remove the tag for speedy deletion. Keep up the good work with the article! Cheers Bped1985 (talk) 05:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I will remove the 2 remaining tags. But I can't guarantee that another editor might not re-insert them. That isn't up to me. What would really make this article solid, is something more on Katie's life. The article lacks that. And is it's crucial in supporting notability. Take your time on this one though. Now that the speedy tags have been removed, you've got some time to dink around. Good luck and happy fact hunting! Bped1985 (talk) 05:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
