Hello there! How you doing?

Feminism in Breastfeeding

[edit]

Ive read the material you added at Breastfeeding#Feminism in Breastfeeding. I can't believe this is still an issue. It was an issue 50 years ago when my children were born. The big thing then was having to be "tied down" to the baby though women preferred to talk about it in other less selfish sounding terms. And nursing in public was not a problem then because no one had any idea what one was doing.

However your section is written like a student essay rather than a section in an encyclopedia article. It needs to be rewritten. Student assignments usually require finding sources, putting them together, and drawing a conclusion. An encyclopedia article does not do this. All the conclusions you put in need to have been published somewhere else first.

Regarding: "There is another layer of breastfeeding that is often overlooked that regards the physical sensations and emotional feelings that naturally arise from breastfeeding."? As I recall from my experiences 50 years ago this was much discussed. The abstract of the article says policy makers overlook this, which you do not say. Does the author of that article mention feminism at all or is this just your own conclusion? "But her main point stems from this conclusion: whether it is moral and feminist simply because the emotional response received is a pleasurable one"

I've taken this sentence out completely: "This should not persuade or dissuade women from breastfeeding, but rather inform women on all aspects of the conversation happening right now in regards to breastfeeding from a Feminist approach.". If you can cite a source for this you can put it back in. StarryGrandma (talk) 02:12, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
