History

[edit]

Halaç Jewelry Limited was founded in 1995 by Ömer Halaç, from the Halaç family – a family with half a century of experience in the jewelry sector.

Always trying to provide the best services within the shortest amount of time, Halaç Jewelry made a name for itself in the Grand Bazaar´s gold market. In 2002, Halaç Jewelry merged with Istanbul Gold Refinery, which had been established by Istanbul Gold Exchange and T.R. Treasury in 1996. After this merger, Istanbul Gold Refinery Inc. became an ever-growing force in the sector, quickly becoming a pioneer to be envied and emulated.

The production of investment bars, known as “goldgram”, was another first by IGR, followed by successful laboratorial operations, foreign exchange and foreign trade. Companies of the IGR Group invest in other fields throughout the world, such as recycling, treatment, mining, agriculture and construction.

As the foreign trade department of the group, IGR Global aims to extend local excellence to a global scale. The department provides refining and assay analysis, as well as, investment bars, bullions and granules to its international customers, while meeting every requirement in terms of precious metals standards of excellence. IGR Global has offices in the important trade centers of the world such as Germany (Frankfurt), China (Hong Kong), Spain (Madrid) and UAE (Dubai).
