Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Idol Records do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.

The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://myspace.com/idolrecords/) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 17:22, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Exploding Plastic

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Exploding Plastic, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No evidence found of sufficient notability for inclusion per WP:ORG.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Wikipedia's use for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our rules about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are grounds for blocking.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than yourself, your group, company or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken here.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. TNXMan 16:43, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

was only trying to clean up mistakes on Idol Records listing and credit the appropriate label by the name of Exploding Plastic, I did not realixe this would be considered innapropriate

Decline reason:

The account should stay blocked until accusations of sockpuppetry and conflict of interest issues are resolved, as explained below. ausa کui × 17:34, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Can you please consider reinstating the listings that I created today for the label Exploding Plastic Records and the Music artist The Crash That Took Me? These are both legitimate International entities that are deserving of Wikipedia listings(many less significant are on Wiki). Neither of these listings are for any kind of self promotion. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.244.162.161 (talk) 18:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In reviewing your request there are three things. First, you will need to change your username; select a new one and let us know what you have chosen. Names that match a company are problematic on many levels; see WP:U. Second, I'm not sure I would call your editing promotional but it's definitely worrisome: on Wikipedia, we are concerned when people edit with a conflict of interest such as you have been doing by creating entries about things your record label has been involved in. See WP:BESTCOI for a good guideline for how to avoid trouble. Third, in particular, I reviewed "The Crash That Took Me" and don't think it's a good idea to restore it because it read like an advertisement, and coming from the label itself, it would be a misuse of Wikipedia. Plus, I don't think they meet our inclusion guidelines, WP:MUSIC, yet. You can be unblocked if you pick a new username and agree to use more caution in the future, such as following the guidelines at WP:BESTCOI. Mangojuicetalk 14:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please verify whether or not this is also your account? Vicenarian (T · C) 17:48, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is also an account, that was used up after losing the password to the other account. Both of these accounts were used to contribute to various music artist pages and to edit mistakes. Please note, I did not create the Idol Records page, I have only edited mistakes and inconsistencies. This is a very prominent International record label, so please do not delete the listing because of the revision that I have made. I only alphabetized the artist listing today so it was easier to use and made a few revisions including crediting Exploding Plastic Records. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Idolrecords (talkcontribs)

Thank you. The article wouldn't be deleted because of your revision. Please see the block notice above for an explanation of what you need to do to resume editing. Regards, Vicenarian (T · C) 18:05, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I hope I did that properly. Can you please consider reinstating the listings that I created today for the label Exploding Plastic Records and the Music artist The Crash That Took Me? These are both legitimate entities that are deserving of being on Wikipedia (many less significant are on Wiki). Neither of these listings are for any kind of self promotion. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Idolrecords (talkcontribs)

I have no authority to restore material, as I am not an admin. Please wait for an admin to review your unblock request. Make sure to read the block reasons carefully and put all your arguments for unblocking in your request. Thanks, Vicenarian (T · C) 18:27, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:ExplodingPlastic.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Vicenarian (T · C) 16:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Idolrecords for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Vicenarian (T · C) 15:45, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For The Record

[edit]

I have no grudge against Idol Records or any of its artists - I hadn't even heard of the label until this issue came up. My primary concern here is the promotional nature of your username and the potential COI editing of Idol Records-related articles, all echoed and explained above by MangoJuice and Tnxman307. Using your other username, Idolusa (also seemingly promotional), to edit while this username was blocked appeared to me as abuse of multiple accounts, hence the sockpuppetry case. As for the deletion of your articles, I routinely go through new pages and tag those that appear to qualify for deletion; however, I cannot delete pages, as I am not an admin, so the actual decisions to delete were made by others. None of this was intended as persecution against you personally, Idol Records or any of its artists, and I apologize if I came off as a bit overzealous. I was just trying to do my duty as a Wikipedia editor to look out for, and report, policy and guideline violations.

I hope that you will follow the advice given to you above and I look forward to working with you in the future. Best regards, Vicenarian (T · C) 16:36, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
