- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of J. Michael Cobb, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.idcworld.com/cv-jmcobb.htm.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of J. Michael Cobb
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on J. Michael Cobb, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Autobiography
[edit]As your contested deletion notice for J. Michael Cobb clearly spoke in the first person ("I was seeking to create a page explaining my background in relation to these efforts..."; "I was seeking to create a page explaining my background..."), I will direct you to Wikipedia's policy about writing autobiographies. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
below this notice. Thank you. —Cryptic 21:17, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
As you have blocked my current user name (Idcworld-jmc) I have created a new user account, as requested. It is called: Urbanist-jmc. However, I'm still confused by all this. I understand why you deleted the page I created, and why you blocked my user name (Idcworld-jmc). However, I'm still showing a log in that works for Idcworld-jmc. So what to do. I really don't mind if you totally delete the user accounts Idcworld-jmc and Urbanist-jmc, as I don't seem to be able to follow your instructions. So please, go ahead and delete my user name accounts and anything related to my blocked or my new user names.
I only meant to make useful contributions to Wikipedia, but evidently it is beyond me. So please somehow let me know what you've decided.
- It's actually impossible to delete accounts. Idcworld-jmc (talk · contribs) still exists, but is prevented from editing; Urbanist-jmc (talk · contribs) has no issues. Just abandon the former and log into the latter. —Cryptic 00:16, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
