[edit]

Hello, Icesk8ingem357, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Phyllida Beck, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. The article Phyllida Beck has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. I have restored the page and reset the ten-day clock to give you time to add a reference. What is required to save it in the short term is at least one reliable source to confirm what the article says. I'm afraid blogs and anything she has written herself do not count as reliable - it needs to be something with editorial control and fact-checking, like a newspaper article. Nor is Wikipedia itself a reliable source, since anyone can edit it. The official results of the figure-skating championships would do.

I appreciate your wish to help your friend, but you must understand that that is not what an encyclopedia is for, and I cannot hold out much hope that this article will be kept in the longer term. The inclusion criteria are quite demanding - read WP:SKATER, and for general criteria WP:Notability (summary) and WP:Notability (people). Consider making a page for her on a site like Myspace.
