Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer instead to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you prefer to change your username rather than create a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

I'm the IT administrator for the Inter-Community School Zurich (ICSZ), and we just discovered yesterday that the school has a wikipedia entry which is quite out of date. I have no interest in "selling" the school and I'll do no more than correct any errors of fact. I'm also using the account to monitor activity from the school's IP address, since, as you can see, some of our tsudents have been less than respectful. ICSZ (talk) 14:43, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. (Not sure why this has been sitting untouched for more than two weeks.) Closedmouth (talk) 13:45, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Although you're not "selling", people with WP:COI should not edit their related article directly, but should only suggest changes on the article talkpage in order to gain WP:CONSENSUS, or can edit the article to remove unsourced policy-violating additions (and we appreciate you monitoring the vandals :-) ) (✉→BWilkins←✎) 23:47, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. Being a novice wiki user, I wasn't aware of that option, but I'll do it that way in future... although the changes that got my account blocked were pretty clearly corrections to recent incorrect changes. And it seems that the ICSZ account is now unblocked... but as I was told I shouldn't use that name, I requested a change of name to iand3. That account also now works, but it seems that it's a new account as it doesn't contain any of the content of this page. Or am I missing something.ICSZ (talk) 07:49, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
