Category:Television broadcasting companies of Canada is not meant to contain only companies that are currently in operation; it's meant to contain any company that has operated in television whether it still exists today or not. Category:Defunct broadcasting companies of Canada doesn't clarify whether the company in question operated in television or radio or both, which is why it's not supposed to replace the television and radio categories, but to complement them.
