A tag has been placed on Draft:New Celeste requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://parkrecords.com/artists/new-celeste/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey GreenMeansGo and Worldbruce I am simply trying to create a Wikipedia page about the band New Celeste which tells the long history of the band accurately and with numerous citations to support the article. I can't see how anyone else could write such a detailed article about the band, although if it ever goes online, no doubt other people will wish to make contributions. Perhaps I should have involved a third party in the creation of this article? It is certainly not being written for any commercial gain. I have been helped and advised in the course of writing this article very kindly by GreenMeansGo and would welcome his comments on your message Iainmf (talk) 10:08, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Worldbruce. For whatever it's worth, Iainmf has been forthcoming since their first posts at the Teahouse some months ago about their connection to the subject. That they have not made a formal blanket declaration is probably more my fault than theirs, since I darn well know better, and was concentrating a little too much on the state of the draft.
To Iainmf, yes, per WP:COI, and in the interest of full transparency, it's generally considered good from to make a blanket and persistent declaration, for example, on your user page (which can be created by clicking here, and using something like Template:UserboxCOI. If you would like, you may be more specific in a comment, to the effect of what your specific real-world connection is, and whether you are or are not being paid to edit currently, rather than simply having a strong personal connection. Hopefully this helps clear things up. And apologies to all for not explicitly clearing this up sooner, which I admittedly should have done. GMGtalk 13:39, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey GreenMeansGo and Worldbruce Thanks for the advice both of you. I have now placed a tag on my user page Iainmf, can you let me know if I've done it correctly? Iainmf (talk) 14:41, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good to me. GMGtalk 14:46, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
