Hi @I dream of horses,

nice to e-meet you.

Thanks for accepting my article about Mirador de Ézaro.

One question, I have seen you delete the Stage Winners section. For this article, I replicated that section as similar articles about cycling climbs like Alto de l'Angliru (Stage winners and fastest ascent times) or Mortirolo Pass (First rider passing Mortirolo in Giro d'Italia). Why did you delete that section? I think it is useful, ad I'm keen to adjust this as you may consider.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Josep Josepalvarezperez (talk) 09:53, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Josepalvarezperez: I tend to remove sections that don't have any sources. You could put it back and I won't re-revert you, but perhaps you should use inline citations. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 18:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi dear @I dream of horses :)

thank you very much for editing and for the submission of my first article on Wikipedia! :) I am very grateful for that.

I just wanted to ask you, why you deleted most of the paragraphs I wrote - was the citation wrong? I have put it in the headings of the paragraphs, because most of the information was from the books about the eastern Ore Mountains. I am trying to do the citation work in a better way, I hope it is alright if I repost the paragraphs and try to cite in a correct way.

best wishes and most importantly in these times - best health :)

greetings from the Czech Republic and Germany

@Lucie Fatková: Adding references to a section header is a common mistake. Thankfully, the sections I removed should be within the page history, which you can find a link above the article itself. I also combined identical references into one reference. --I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 21:20, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear "I dream of horses",

the text of the voice "Epileptic headache" is short because it is reduced to the essential. I limited myself to what is necessary to make even a layman understand what it is about (I think this is the purpose of Wikipedia). At the same time, I provided references for those who want to deepen the subject; for this reason I have mainly cited freely accessible references (open access). To make a comparison on brevity-essentiality-conciseness you can see the linked topic “Migralepsy-Wikipedia”, in the context of the relationship between headache and epilepsy. Migralepsy is full of superfluous and sometimes inaccurate information, which can only confuse the ideas of a not exactly expert reader. I haven't tried to edit Migralepsy yet because cuts are mostly needed and this is an unpleasant thing. If I had written Epileptic headache with the criteria with which Migralepsy is written I would have used more than twice as many words. I reiterate my opinion that for very technical topics it is necessary to give essential and clear information, to make the reader understand what it is about. At the same time, I think that Wikipedia must satisfy the request of every person who finds a certain term and wishes to have information on it, which obviously will be provided by those who have dealt with the subject.

The topic has no relationship with the “post-ictal state”, if not in the broad field of epileptology.

I kindly ask you to re-evaluate your decision.

(Sorry for my poor English.) Best regards

CivCianc (talk) 12:05, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@CivCianc: I'm not reconsidering my decision. Here's an alternative:
If the migralepsy is so inaccurate, it's pretty best to not "fork" out a more accurate article (also confusing to readers), but rather to devote time to finding reliable sources and correcting the information, something you're uniquely qualified to do. Granted, shortening or "stubbifying" an article is something I've done a few times. Sometimes, it's easier to start over with a poor-quality article, either partially (with shortening the article) or fully (deleting a particularly egregious article with a useful title). We even have an essay about this.I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 21:55, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have to disagree on the Second source: Behind a paywall, not ideal comment. I have deleted your rejection of this draft. I had originally said that the draft should wait until Joe Biden was projected to be President-elect of the United States. I do have an account, why do you keep asking me to create a new one? all my info comes from my vast record collection and personal music knowledge. I'm retired now after 40 years of working in record stores/warehouses. I've been editing on wiki (on and off) for close to 10 years. If I see an article that's missing some info, I just add it. I don't want to make a big production out of adding one or two lines of info. Request on 15:57:22, 16 November 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Marina Castle

Hello :) I have some questions about the improvement of my Wiki article. Could you please help me with some advice?

I have a comment that my article looks more like an advertisement, how should I improve it? I decided that the info about the mobile app may seem like an advertisement so I deleted it. Should I delete something else too?

And another question is about the references. Where can I read about the external links at the bottom of the page? I saw the Snowycats wrote me about it, but I don't quite understand what is the mistake

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you, Marina

Marina Castle (talk) 15:57, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marina Castle, if you want to follow Snowycats instructions, the instruction page for external links is here.
Basically, the entire "History" section reads like an ad; it needs to be rewritten entirely or else deleted. It might help to add more inline citations, but that's not absolutely required.
Also, you need to either declare that you are paid/employed by Carine Malting SA and directed to write the draft, or tell Curb Safe Charmer that, actually, you're not a paid editor. I've blocked the creator of this version of Draft:Anusharai (actress) as a sock. I'm not familiar with the AFC process on this but the editor is definitely a sock and the draft should be deleted as G5. —SpacemanSpiff 12:57, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like there's more to this mess than I'd earlier seen. What's happening (across multiple drafts) is that they are copying over articles from here to Wikitia, then copying back grom Wikitia to circumvent our deletion process but with the additional problems of copyright issues as the attribution trail is lost completely. I also blocked another account related to this. Likely many such articles, but I would guess that this group is focused on film and TV related topics of Karnataka. —SpacemanSpiff 18:50, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SpacemanSpiff, generally speaking, I'm reluctant to have drafts deleted because I want people to actually use AfC enough that I don't want to punish them for it. However, there are specific circumstances where I make an exception, and this is one of them. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Hello "I dream of horses",

My AfC "Triumph Trident 660" was recently rejected for reason: Lacks proper sourcing. Would you kindly elicit more information? Is it that I did not have enough sources, or was it that I quoted only one publication? As you may understand, this was my first attempt at an article, and the rules are often mystifying for newbies of any system.

I also have another question: Can I submit pictures that are freely available? I wanted to add a few pictures, but there was a warning indicating that I must own copyright. Pictures of this new motorcycle are few and far between. I did email the Social Media and Content Coordinator at Triumph Motorcycles Limited re. use of their pictures, and received this reply:

The comms team has confirmed that we have royalty-free licence to use the official Trident images in perpetuity in connection with our business, howsoever we choose, including distributing them to third parties for editorial use. Therefore you are free to use images from our website on Wikipedia.

I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Bucksfizz

Bucksfizz (talk) 14:30, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bucksfizz, don't concentrate on the images for now. Wait until the draft is approved. Copyright is a sticky issue that gets more knowledgeable people than the two of us sued.
I'm unsure what the standards are for motorbikes, but I like seeing 3-5 reliable sources on drafts before I approve them as notable. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 19:53, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear I Dream of Horses, thank you for your immediate reply on November 4th, which unfortunately I only saw a few days ago. Unfortunately, I am not an expert in the modalities of dialogue in the context of wikipedia and I was waiting for an answer by email. Late I realized that the regular way is the "talk". Returning to my proposal (“epileptic headache”), based on your suggestion to insert in “post-ictal status”, I found the existence of the entry “Ictal headache”. I have read it and in my opinion it is completely inadequate, imprecise, often erroneous, very little informative. It was probably made several years ago, when the topic was beginning to be outlined. In fact, the title refers to a specific form, while the content refers in general to the relationship between headache and epilepsy. If you think the title should be kept, explaining from the first lines what it refers to, all the following text must be replaced. I am embarrassed to make a TOTAL correction in situ, and I don't know if it can be done. For this I ask for your opinion. I report below the new text that I propose and I will be pleased if, before inserting it in place of the current one, it will be discussed by a neurologist expert in headache and epilepsy. In the original text, relevant terms are in bold, not visible in this reproduction of the text below. Obviously, if it is okay, before inserting I will modify it according to the editorial rules of wikipedia Next I will deal with the entry “migralepsy”. Thanks for your attention and best regards. CivCianc cianchet@unica.it

Ictal headache A headache is often present in patients suffering from epilepsy. If the headache occurs in the vicinity of a seizure, it is defined as peri-ictal headache, which can occur either before (pre-ictal) or after (post-ictal) the seizure, to which the term ictal refers. An ictal headache [1] itself may or may not be an epileptic manifestation. In the first case it is defined as ictal epileptic headache[2] or simply epileptic headache[3]. It is a real painful seizure, that can remain isolated or be followed by other manifestations of the seizure [3]. On the other hand, the ictal non-epileptic headache is a headache that occurs during a seizure but it is not due to an epileptic mechanism. When the headache does not occur in the vicinity of a seizure it is defined as inter-ictal headache. In this case it is a disorder autonomous from epilepsy, that is a comorbidity.

Definitions and clinic Pre-ictal headache. The most frequent pre-ictal hedache is that of a seizure occurring during or within one hour after an attack of migraine with aura, defined Migraine aura-triggered seizure [4] or Migralepsy. However, the condition can also occur in connection with an attack of migraine without aura or of a non-migrainous headache [5]. Only an EEG during the headache can determine whether it is a true migraine or an epileptic headache (in this second case epileptiform anomalies are detectable during the headache phase).

Post-ictal headache. It is a headache “occurring within three hours after an epileptic seizure, and remitting spontaneously within 72 hours after seizure termination” [4]. It is one of the possible symptoms of the postictal state. Post-ictal headache is the most frequent association between headache and epilepsy, occurring between 12% to 52% of people with epilepsy [6]. Post-ictal headache has migrainous features in about half of the cases. It is more frequent after generalized tonic-clonic seizures, in temporal and occipital lobe epilepsy and in those suffering from inter-ictal headache.

Inter-ictal headache. Patients suffering from epilepsy may also suffer from any type of headache, having its occurrence independent of the epileptic seizures, although occasionally near it (after or before). This is a comorbid condition, to be kept separate from the above-reported peri-ictal and ictal headaches [5].

Ictal headache 1.Ictal epileptic headache (IEH) [2] or, more simply, Epileptic headache (EH, as a headache manifestation of an epileptic seizure is by definition ictal, since the term ictal is used to indicate seizure)[3]. This is a rare form of painful seizure [3,7]. EH may be the initial phase (so-called aura, necessarily with awareness) of an epileptic seizure, which then continues with other manifestations, for example convulsions. But EH is of greater clinical importance when it is an isolated event ("pure EH" [8]), i.e. not followed by other manifestations that clarify its epileptic nature.

Symptoms and diagnosis. EH has no characteristic clinical elements allowing a diagnosis. The characteristics and location of the pain in EH can be different: sometimes migraine-like with or without aura, sometimes tension-type, sometimes indefinable. The duration of an episode of EH may last for seconds, but even for days (headache/status epilepticus [9]. For the diagnosis it is necessary to perform an EEG during the headache that shows epilepsy-compatible discharges coinciding with the onset and cessation of the headache. The so-called hemicrania epileptica is a variant of EH characterized by the fact that head pain and EEG paroxysms are located on the same side. MRI is necessary to establish the cause, which, as in all focal epilepsies, can be different: malformations/dysplasias, neoplasms, encephalopathies, trauma, vasculopathies ]] [2].

Therapy. It depends on the etiology. During the headache, like most seizures, i.v.benzodiazepines are usually effective. Antiepileptic drugs can be used as preventive.

2.Ictal non-epileptic headache. Rare cases are reported [10]. It is a condition that can be differentiated with certainty from the previous one if the headache episode is also present outside the seizure, that is, before and/or after, without specific EEG abnormalities [5].

CivCianc, one option is to be bold and insert the text in the article, having it replace any erroneous text that exists. If you are affliated with any of the sources, you'll need to put the text on the talk page under {{request edit}} instead.
Unfortunately, and the reason why I gave you those two options is that it'll take a long time for a medical expert to be consulted about the above text, if it happens at all. You might've noticed we don't have many active editors and that fewer still have medical expertise. Editing Wikipedia is a little boring and quite complicated, after all.

CivCianc (talk) 12:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC) 2020.11.19 Dear I Dream of Horses, thank you for your response and for your commendable commitment to Wikipedia. I strongly believe in Wikipedia, which I consider the most important way to spread correct knowledge in the world, and correct knowledge is fundamental. I think that for scientific topics it is necessary to organize a peer review procedure, as we doctors and all other scientific disciplines do. It is a free contribution, which is given in the interest of the community. I suggest that Wikipedia start using this procedure. Wikipedia could put a banner on each site inviting those who demonstrate and document their expertise in some field to make themselves available for peer review. A large database of competent people with related fields of expertise could thus be created, from which those who manage Wikipedia as you do can ask for a review. Now I am going to make the total modification of the “ictal headache” entry: it will take some time because I am not used to editing Wikipedia, which is complex, especially for references. Very cordial greetings. CivCianc cianchet@unica.it — Preceding unsigned comment added by CivCianc (talkcontribs) 12:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@CivCianc: Unfortunately, nearly all "expert editors" would find any peer review process to interfere with work-life balance enough that they will simply refuse to participate on a consistent basis. This comes from an incredibly valid concern, but will significantly delay information getting out publicly. There are other concerns as well, but that's a big one. Dear I dream of horses, I wish to inform you that I have finally completed and published the re-edition of "Ictal headache". I would prefer the title to be changed this way too: "Ictal headache (Headache and Epilepsy)". But I don't know if it's possible or how to do it Best regards CivCianc

CivCianc, so you want to move it then? It might be forgivable if you want to request a move here, but I've also linked an informational page in the last sentence on how to do it yourself. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 02:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

draft cats

[edit]

in this edit you disabled 2 draft categories ("drafts about fictional people" and "pixar drafts") that quite obviously shouldn't have been disabled; slow down. 78.28.55.91 (talk) 21:22, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I should've partially reverted it myself. My apologies. I dream of horses (Contribs) Please notify me after replying off my talk page. Thank you. 02:03, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Vandalism

[edit]

Hi, Thank you for your offer to help when I first started editing in 2014. Can you please with the vandalism for the page AMCHA Initiative by User:ImTheIP? Extremely biased editor, POV throughout, unsubstantiated sources and claims. I want so badly to give this person the benefit of the doubt, but I went to other edits on other pages and this person is misusing Wikipedia. I just discovered this vandalism now although the vandalism occurred for months. Please see earlier versions by multiple editors and see what User:ImtheIP did to the page. I have tried to address it myself, but the User claims I cannot edit since the User tagged as related to the Israel-Palestine topic. Note that when I edited, I only used sources of reputable established news sources (no blogs) and from the org's website directly if related to positions the org held (or claimed they did). Please see back to Jan 2020 for reference points or the reversions made. Would really appreciate an unbiased editor taking a look at the page and previous versions! I would love it Wikipedia remained sensitive to remaining unbiased. Thank you very much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Worlduse (talkcontribs) 22:52, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Worlduse, if ImTheIP is being as disruptive as you say they are, perhaps you should report them to the Arbration enforcement board. If you want clarification as to what discretionary sanctions, the arbitration committee, etc. are, you can ask them at the teahouse.
