Argan

[edit]

Hi Hydro2 - the Arabic and Portuguese interwikis are correct; there is only one species in the genus Argania, so the genus page and species page are the same page - MPF 09:35, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry. --Hydro2 09:43, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Heavy) Metal

[edit]

Hi Hydro, I noticed that you made some changes in interwiki links for categories relating to Heavy Metal and Metal. I think you have removed some links which are actually correct. The problem is that Heavy Matal has a different meaning in different languages. What we call Metal in Dutch or German is called Heavy Metal in English. So I've tried to fix some of the interwiki links again with this in mind. - Ronaldvd 10:25, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The Korean interwiki is correct. It's category about muscle and muscular system. Why delete that? --Ficell 23:58, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Because there is only one, very short article in it. --Hydro2 07:42, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Korean Wikipedia have just 43,000+ articles so it don't have many articles like english one. But category for them is exist and exact. --Ficell 13:36, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

For this. Greetings, --Bjoern Mailbox 08:31, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:45, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cranberry

[edit]

Dude, why this edit: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Cranberry&action=historysubmit&diff=433593741&oldid=433588710 ? 83.254.28.180 (talk) 19:23, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because cranberries are a group of four shrubs and tranbär is a species (Vaccinium oxycoccos). --Hydro (talk) 19:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Point 1: tranbär is both plural and singular, so the word itself is as much for the group as is cranberries.
Point 2: The direct translation of cranberry is tranbär and the other way around.
Point 3: The English page is named cranberry so doesn't even suggest a group more than tranbär even if interpreted as singular, though it does indeed start the page with using cranberries and obviously deals with the whole group.
Point 4: The Swedish page touches on all the species, but does so in an unstructured manner. Vaccinium oxycoccos is refered to as just tranbär in some places but as vanligt tranbär (vanligt = common) in another.
Point 5: If accepting that the English page really is intended for the group and the Swedish one for just Vaccinium oxycoccos, why did you remove the link from the Swedish page to the English page? Vaccinium oxycoccos is obviously part of the group, and the English page is the correct page to read about it in English.
Just my non-botanist view. I won't make deal of it or bother you again. 83.254.28.180 (talk) 23:05, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "zh" bit in 2010

[edit]

It's small and old but I've gotten interested in the subject. If you're willing to wade and weigh in here, I'd appreciate it. (You are "wholesale remov[er]", hopefully not unfairly characterized.) Cheers. Swliv (talk) 20:23, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
