Peer Review

[edit]

Your additions are well-written and contain solid information. What area of the page were you planning to add this information to? I agree with Jessie that your website source may not be as well accepted by Wikipedia as the textbook. Perhaps you can find a suitable article review from a scientific journal? Also, are you planning to replace the existing intro with your first paragraph? It seems like this information may be somewhat repetitive to what is on the page already? I like the specifics on Phosphorous, though. From my review of this page, it needs help with the specifics of nutrients. If you wanted to add more about Phosphorous that could be helpful. Overall, you have done a great job! Annaliddane (talk) 17:49, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Anna Liddane[reply]

What specific changes might you make to improve the plant phys article? Jmmcabee (talk) 17:37, 18 April 2017 (UTC)jmmcabee[reply]

Looks like you would want to do some fact-checking about how auxin is involved in hydrotropism to make sure the article is clear and accurate. If it is not clear from the book, then you would likely want to find a different source. For nutrient sensing, I agree there is a lot that could be added here. Since the topic is nutrient sensing and not just nutrients or nutrient uptake, I'm not sure you'd want to go into the functions of each nutrient. Using another web page as a source may not be the best unless it is a highly-respected organization. Jmmcabee (talk) 18:06, 26 April 2017 (UTC)jmmcabee[reply]

It looks like you found a definite gap to fill here. Your content is good. The textbook is a good source, but a website, not so much. Saying the nutrients are equally important seems like a value judgment. How about saying that a deficiency in any of these can lead to death instead. You may want to even include a more complete list of the macronutrients and micronutrients required by the plant, but remember that the article is about nutrient sensing, so maybe make some mention of there being specific transporters involved in taking up different nutrients. I think some ions use the same transporters, though. Jmmcabee (talk) 19:51, 10 May 2017 (UTC)jmmcabee[reply]
