Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Hurley2000, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} and your question on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- The Red Pen of Doom 20:11, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't remove sources

[edit]

Several of your recent edits (for example this one [1] and [2]) have removed references from articles without providing any valid explanation why. Please go through your edits and restore the content you have removed and be more careful in the future. -- The Red Pen of Doom 20:15, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have again removed many sources in this edit [3]. Please restore them and try to be more careful in the future. -- The Red Pen of Doom 20:09, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of Days of our Lives cast members, you may be blocked from editing.

Your repeated removal of references is unacceptable. Stop now and return the sourcing to the articles which you have vandalized. -- The Red Pen of Doom 20:35, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

September 2012

[edit]

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at List of The Bold and the Beautiful cast members, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Zac  21:13, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Source removal and year convention

[edit]

I'm going to revert your edits at List_of_General_Hospital_cast_members as you've removed numerous sources without any reasoning. Please don't remove sources without an explanation.

Also, please see WP:YEAR on conventions of formatting ranges of dates and years. You've changed many from ex. 1990–99 to 1990–1999, whereas the first is actually correct.

Request reason:

I am hoping you can help me. My name is Nicole and I have had a long history with Wikipedia. My username TVFAN24 ended up getting blocked because I said some very rude things to a user which I have deeply regretted and apologized for. I made another wrong decision by making sockpuppets to evade my block because I freaked out and was under the impression that my original TVFAN24 account was blocked forever. I love editing Wikipedia as you can see and would just like to have a fresh start. I was even thinking of getting a new name in order to leave the bad past of TVFAN24 behind. I hope you can assist me with this unfortunate situation. I also have high blood pressure and I am worried I will never be able to edit again. I support Wikipedia so much that I have donated in the past to show how much I am behind it. All I am asking is that my original TVFAN24 account be restored. I hope this nightmare can be resolved once and for all and I can stop worrying. Thank you for you time on this matter. Hurley2000 (talk) 21:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I think the best way for you to relax would be to calmly accept that editing Wikipedia is not going to be your hobby, respect your block, and stop making edits on Wikipedia completely. If, as you say, you have medical reasons to avoid worry, Wikipedia is definitely not going to be a good treatment for that. I searched, and found a list of hobbies that are useful for stress relief. I hope this will be helpful for you. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:11, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

If I were to be allowed back on Wikipedia you could set very strict restrictions for me to follow. I would also make a vow to only edit on a part-time basis. I would only make a few edits a week. Before, I was letting wikipedia consume my life not giving myself to do other things. Its time for a change and I want to steer clear of running into any more problems. I just love wikipedia so much and I am hoping you can see that. No more block evasions, I want to truthfully make edits under one account. You can even monitor my every move if you'd like and if you saw one thing you didn't like or that was against the rules, you could ban me forever. That's how serious I am about acting within the guidelines. I absolutely promise I will edit with one account and never engage in sockpuppetry again otherwise you can ban me for life. Please give me one last shot. Hurley2000 (talk) 7:37 am, Today (UTC+7)

Please see the comments on your user talk:TVFAN24 account where your request was already declined by User:Fluffernutter only 13 days ago, and take the advice you have been given here. Thanks.

If I was unblocked, just to show you how much restrain I have, I would punish myself for my actions and not make any edits for two whole months from the day I was unblocked. That is two full months to sit and think about what I have done. Even though the temptation would be there, I would not go against my word. You could keep checking my account to see if I have edited or not. If you saw even one edit before the two months was up, you could forever BAN me. That is something I could prove to you if I was given the chance to be unblocked. I am so tired of running into problems on here. I used to really love to make contributions on Wikipedia and I feel like I will never be allowed back. I am so sorry and would like to have a fresh start. Please someone give me the opportunity to show my loyalty. I am begging you and am at your mercy. Any restrictions you want to put in place in addition to the one I just mentioned would be welcomed. I promise, promise, promise you will not see behavior exhibited like that from me ever ever again. This will be the last time I plan to ever use my talk page. "This will be the last time I plan to ever use my talk page." Yes, this is true, because I'm revoking your ability to edit. To reiterate what has been said already: you must request unblock using the instructions posted on your original account's talk page. This sockpuppet account will NOT be unblocked. --Kinu t/c 05:19, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All the things you are asking for have already happened. You already asked for, and got, a second chance. You already promised to make only useful edits. We already tried this, and what happened was, you made the same kinds of unhelpful edits, and were permanently blocked after the second chance was not successful. Then you started this account (in effect, giving yourself a 'third chance.') And you still made the same kinds of unhelpful edits. It looks like, although you mean well, you simply are not able, right now, to make the kinds of edits that Wikipedia needs. It's okay to just let it go. Maybe this is just a hobby that isn't going to work out for you. That happens. We all have the relics of hobbies that didn't work out for us. Come visit me, and see the guitar I never learned to play, sitting on top of a shelf. (Please don't actually come visit me. That would be strange for both of us.)-FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:45, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You really need to take it easy TVFAN24. It's not healthy for you to torment yourself over Wikipedia. It's just a hobby, nothing more. And no one ever said that you were blocked/banned from Wikipedia "forever".
Please refrain from creating sockpuppets accounts again; it is counterproductive and is only creating more roadblocks to your goal of being readmitted to the community. Instead, follow the advice from Fluffernutter which is to forget Wikipedia for a while and enjoy life. In February or March 2013, if you're still interested in coming back, follow the instructions to the links that Fluffernutter has provided to you. Take care.
