William Wilkerson

[edit]

Great work on William Wilkerson! Thanks for contributing it. I happened to notice that the narration stops suddenly in 1946. Did anything happen after that? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 07:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reading it and for your feedback. I am currently compiling the information. I should have it up in the next few weeks.HumanisticRationale (talk) 08:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Man Who Invented Las Vegas Book Cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- lucasbfr talk 19:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you're Bugsy, are you sure can you release that document as the copyright holder? Claiming fair use might be better.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:41, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I assure you that I am the copyright holder and have the original document in my possession. I do appreciate your concern. Thank you for verifying. HumanisticRationale (talk) 03:47, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This image don't have a copyright tag. Please insert the tag corresponding about this image. See all tags at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 00:00, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group

[edit]

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 03:10, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - last year (May 2008) you made a series of edits to Flamingo Las Vegas that appear to have been pulled verbatim from a book entitled THE MAN WHO INVENTED LAS VEGAS. Those edits have been removed entirely due to copyright violations. As such, there is nothing for you to do to correct the issue in this case - just wanted to let you know. In the future, please be aware that copying text directly out of someone else's work (whether it be a web page, book, magazine, or other) is against WP policy. Other than that, happy editing! File source problem with File:Flamingo Construction Site 1946.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Flamingo Construction Site 1946.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:42, 18 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 07:42, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Release of all demands, 1947.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:35, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Commons:User:Hold and wave placed a {{copyvio}} speedy deletion tag on File:Release of all demands, 1947.jpg an image you uploaded. I am sorry they didn't inform you. Orphaned non-free image File:Scarfo n.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Scarfo n.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:13, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
