Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Hi. I’m completely new to this. And don’t understand why I have been blocked. Can someone explain? I’m not editing on behalf of anyone. I’m not doing paid editing. I’m not a former editor. I really do not understand why I have been blocked. Can someone please review this block?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Hotblonde007 (talkcontribs)

You must make a new unblock request. I have restored the block notice so you can do so. In addition, prior declined requests must remain on this page until the block is removed, per WP:BLANKING. 331dot (talk) 14:02, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks. Sorry, I didn’t know re: deletion. Honestly, this has taken the wind out of my sails with my new found editing hobby. Thanks for looking into this and giving me the opportunity to contest my blocking. I hope someone updates the litigation etc. on the Elysium page in the future. If you google this issue, you will find there is a cult following with several legal blogs including right of assembly (who is a shareholder of competitor). I can verify whatever you need. All the best!

Request reason:

I’m not being paid. Would you like to see my broke bank account? Why is it assumed I’m being paid? Look at my edits so far. This is likely being done by someone being paid in an attempt to mute the truth. Please unblock.Hotblonde007 (talk) 01:03, 6 January 2022 (UTC) I’m not being paid. I follow litigation and I’ve added detail to the litigation. Additionally, I added history to Rosemary beach. I’m not being paid. Whoever blocked me is likely being paid. Please unblock.Hotblonde007 (talk) 01:03, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I have examined your edits and edit history, and I must arrive at the same conclusion as GeneralNotability did. As such, I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:43, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I would add that an interest in patent litigation is not common; are you an attorney/legal professional? 331dot (talk) 14:04, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have a law degree and worked as a biotech analyst in the past. I started a patent law podcast trying to predict legal proceedings with friends.

Request reason:

Please see above. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to rejoin the Wiki community in the future. Until then, farewell. Hotblonde007 (talk) 14:44, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Someone else will review your request, but I would urge you to either withdraw the statement "This is likely being done by someone being paid in an attempt to mute the truth" or offer the evidence that you have to support that accusation(while being mindful of WP:OUTING). 331dot (talk) 16:23, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I can withdraw the statements. Do I say “I withdraw them” or delete? I think providing evidence without doxxing would be difficult and I am not 100% certain. I find it very odd someone will not let me post the outcome of the litigation. I’d be suspicious of anyone that doesn’t want the update to the legal proceeding to be included. If you google Elysium vs. ChromaDex you’ll find there is a Reddit page, legal blogs (right of assembly), a Facebook group, and more. It’s definitely a “dinner for schmucks” crowd of followers (myself included), but they’re definitely not paid (though some are CDXC shareholders). If my updates are re incorporated, I will never touch the page again. However, I will likely update litigation on other pages in the future and write about other country’s legal system, as those are my passions.

I have struck the statement for you. 331dot (talk) 16:47, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you kindly.

I’d like to add the following: I hereby confirm that I have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. I am NOT being compensated for my edits. I have no affiliation or conflict of interest with the subjects I have written about at this time. As stated above, I intend to edit similar topics (patent disputes) in the future using only the trial outcomes and facts. I also intend to provide more history about Rosemary Beach. I hope to also add more information about the Dutch, US, and Russian court systems. I have studied law in 9 countries and enjoy comparative law and patent disputes.

Not that you have to answer, but I'm curious how you found your way to this user page on your second edit. Spicy (talk) 17:18, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Went down the Wiki rabbit hole and thought it was cool he had a fleet of bots. I want bots but I first need to figure out what they are and how you get them. Would you kindly fill me in on the backstory? I mean, why are you inquiring about it? Is that odd or…? Please fill me in.

Hello. Is my account still being considered for review?

[edit]

{{unblock|reason= I’d like to be unblocked so I can continue to contribute content for the Wiki community. I work for a cryptocurrency exchange in the legal and compliance department. I am a fan of the supplement company I was editing. Other than being a user of their products, I do not have anything to disclose. I kindly ask that I am unblocked. Hotblonde007 (talk) 03:06, 14 January 2022

Hey, hotblonde007. In order for us to evaluate your unblock request, usually you'd put a reason in, but I'm willing to discuss. The problem is basically that someone found your edits to look like undisclosed paid editing, which we don't allow. It doesn't mean that if you're being paid to edit (or simply are an employee of an organization you're editing about, which we also consider paid editing) you can't work to get changes made. It just means you need to disclose, and you need to use edit requests instead of directly editing. You can learn more at WP:Edit requests. valereee (talk) 17:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Valereee, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I do not have anything to disclose because I am not an employee and am simply a fan of the company. I’d really just like to have my account back so I can edit other pages. I work for a cryptocurrency exchange. I’d like to update the crypto pages and put in new information regarding what the SEC has said etc. I do not work for the following companies but have been following the litigation for Coinbase and Ripple. I will not create a webpage for the company I work for (my company isn’t on wiki). I would like to be a part of the Wiki community again.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Hotbloned007 (talkcontribs)
So, GeneralNotability, is there an editing restriction you'd be okay with for considerig an unblock? valereee (talk) 21:32, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
valereee, I'm rather reluctant, but if you're willing to give them a chance I will trust your judgment. Maybe something like "may not edit articles about companies directly, must use edit requests"? Or something like that, since the problematic editing that looked like UPE was to articles about companies. GeneralNotability (talk) 03:45, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hotbloned007, would you be willing to edit with the restriction that any editing of any article about a current commercial business must be done via edit request? valereee (talk) 12:51, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Valereee, I really appreciate your suggestion. That seems reasonable to me. I greatly appreciate your consideration! Thank you!

Okay, HB007. I'll unblock you. Please be careful to adhere to the agreed-upon restriction. valereee (talk) 22:09, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. Thank you again for your assistance! I’m so grateful! Many thanks!
