"The Network" strikes again
FYI, I brought it up on WP:ANI in case you're interested in reading, but now they're attacking Tampa, Florida (that and Ben Franklin Bridge have since been blocked by User:Redvers for a week). Actually, I think this is pretty funny! They must be the nerdiest fraternity on campus. EaglesFanInTampa 23:39, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

RFAR
Not the worst idea I've ever heard by a long shot, and perhaps worth trying. Just make sure you tell the autoblocker ;). Mackensen (talk) 02:39, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I know that the latest round of Teh Drama™ was caused by Giano's extreme over-reaction to the autoblock, but it is his past interaction with the arbitration process that led to the current contretemps. Everybody knows that Giano doesn't like the ArbCom or IRC, and that's not going to change. And frankly, his incessant demands to desysop anyone who blocks him are childish, tedious and contentious.
- My sarcasm at RFAR was intended to drive home to some of the participants that constant drama by the same small group of people tends to piss off those of us who follow the messageboards to deal with situations that are actually correctable, and stoking an insatiable need to be the center of attention is best handled elsewhere. I don't know if I succeeded, but nobody has napalmed me yet. Horologium (talk) 15:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

BTW, you might want to be aware of this edit: [1].--Gen. Bedford his Forest 02:13, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was aware of this because I had been watching Teh Dramah on your page, and the several players involved. I decided to let Charles Edward handle it on his own, which he did before Sceptre deleted his response. Horologium (talk) 02:25, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Could you protect my user page for 1-3 days; this changing is getting old. Make sure the last edit was mine. Thanks.--Gen. Bedford his Forest 02:46, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Done Full protection, 1 month. Horologium (talk) 02:52, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- By doing so, you're protecting a BLP-violating version in an edit war. As an administrator, you are expected to not do that. Sceptre (talk) 02:54, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- There is no BLP violation, because a) there is no mention of any specific people (it's unspecified *admins*, which pointedly excludes you) and b) it's not an assertion of rape. Horologium (talk) 02:59, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Whoever it's aimed at (probably users like Durova, Alison, SlimVirgin, Seraphim [see a pattern there?]), it's a living person. And BLP doesn't ask for a specific target. It just says "if there is libellous [...] information about a living person, it must be removed". Those accusations, even if they are metaphorical, are about living persons. Ergo... - Thanks, although I'll have to get someone to unprotect it before then once my new DYK go through.--Gen. Bedford his Forest 02:56, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- You can use {{editprotected}}, although I anticipate that there will be a resolution before then. Once it's resolved, the page can be unprotected. Horologium (talk) 02:59, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
