RE: Unsung Heroes Deletion Nomination

[edit]

You aren't doing anything wrong per se (though the article definitely needs better sourcing. Articles require reliable third party sources, which this article is currently lacking). However, Wikipedia has certain guidelines to determine if a band meets the notability requirments to have an article at WP:NBAND. I feel that this band does not, thus I nominated it for deletion. This doesn't necessarily mean that I am unquestionably right and that it will definitely be deleted, merely that there will be a discussion to establish this. You can find the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Unsung Heroes (Band), which you can participate in to state your own side. However, just note that arguing that the article should stay because there are other articles about bands that have less notability exist is never a valid argument for keeping, per WP:OTHERSTUFF. Hi again! Any number of sources is going to be okay. Try looking at the internet for magazines and newspapers. I will try to improve the article.

By the way, links doesn't work at the feedback :D

And I just saw your message, you forget to write four tildes at the end of your message. Remember, whenever you leave a message, you have to write them at the end of the message. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salma Vian (talkcontribs) 18:33, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with this edit to The Unsung Heroes (Band). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Zad68 19:00, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AFD Removal

[edit]

You seem to be a bit unclear about the deletion policy. Please ready Articles for deletion to get a better understanding of it. You can not remove AFD notices yourself. The AFD discussion will go on for at least 7 days in order to reach a consensus, and a Wikepieda admin will decide at the end what to do with the article, and remove the AFD notice is appropriate. You can not just decide to remove it yourself. Rorshacma (talk) 19:25, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry I understand the process now I'm very interested in new British indie bands and labels and believe a lot of notable artist should be included in Wikipedia. I realise more research should be done before future submission. I'm keen to learn more about succellfully editing/creating articles.

Hi Hollyroouk!
According to WP:GNG: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article or stand-alone list."
More detailed information can be found on Wikipedia:Notability (music).

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/User201212 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Valenciano (talk) 13:29, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hollyroouk, you can help the article too. If there are newspaper or magazine articles about the band, you can add them into the article so other Wikipedians know that they have been written about in reliable sources. Happy editing!

How can i do that?? I am really confused about all of this, I know that i shouldn’t have created multiple accounts and realise this was against Wikipedia policy and shouldn’t have evaded this. I this indefinite block of my IP this I feel is

I am an independent person to this contribution The Unsung Heroes (Band) it is extremely hard to find sources because of their Band name. I should have checked that before I created this and choice a band more easily notable to create my first article. I am an English media Student at Newcastle University and felt that this would be good practice for me to gain some real life experience. I have seen this band perform once at Northumbria University but have no connection to them. I thought with this band being quite hard to search for this would be a good information page “NOT in any way a promotional tool for them. I would like to expand my contribution to this article but would recommend for it to be kept as a UK-band Stub with the minimal information until more can be verified, although at this moment I cant fully prove their notability this band are really under the radar and more notability will be inevitably added soon.
