If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on VIST Mortgage requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gaijin42 (talk) 19:25, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone help me out here? My pages VIST Mortgage, VIST Insurance, VIST Bank and VIST Virtual Bank have been deleted and are being redirected to VIST Financial. Each one of the deleted pages are separate entities (although under the big umbrella of VIST Financial) and warrant (IMO) a separate page. These pages were deleted without fair notification or explanation. Granted, I got a speedy deletion message for the VIST Mortgage page, which I appealed only to be deleted anyway. Can someone please explain? I am trying to understand the criteria that content is being judged as it seems somewhat ambiguous, inconsistent or subjective to the reviewer. What can I do to get them posted again. Are these pages better suited being sub pages? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks Hmanick

Help request

[edit]

I would someone to help me here.

I had created a couple of pages weeks ago. they were edited by someone else only to be redirected by WIki Editor User:MikeWazowski. I had contacted him on his talk page, but he is not answering my questions. Below is my message to Mike

Hi Mike, I posted the following on your talk page last week and am waiting for a response. Please reply.

I see that you redirected the following pages I posted. VIST Bank, VIST Insurance and VIST Virtual Bank. These pages were redirected to VIST Financial. On the surface they may seem to be duplicative efforts, but these are individual entities under the VIST Financial umbrella. The page I created for VIST Mortgage was deleted altogether when it really was not too much different than the other companies under the Category:Mortgage|Lenders. Can you please explain why these were redirected or deleted and better yet can these pages please be reverted back to a live status? If not would you suggest augmenting the VIST Financial pages with the content from the individual pages or will that be too much and create issues with the Wiki reviewers? Thank you in advance for your help. (talk)Hmanick (talk) 15:17, 22 December 2011 (UTC) Thanks Hmanick (talk) Hmanick (talk) 15:16, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Can somene please help me? I would like the redirects reverted and have the pages re-upped. Hmanick (talk) 14:03, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Pages are generally redirected when there is a lack of notability, or even an indication of importance and/or significance of the subject. None of the subsidiaries have established notability independent of the parent organization. In this situation, the choices are either delete or redirect. The redirect is generally preferable, because a reader can enter the subsidiary's name in the search and find the parent company. Hope this makes sense. The action taken by User:MikeWazowski was the correct one. (I've gone ahead and redirected the VIST Mortgage article.) Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 15:21, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Cindy! I will be updating the Parent company's wiki then Hmanick (talk) 16:14, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
