- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}
Dude, that is not cool to just keep trying to make that change, and also nobody cares if documented history "hurts the sentiments" of any community. It's a very large world, and we can't just erase history because some people in Maharashtra dislike it.
If you have cogent arguments, make them on Talk, but you can't just try to force through your views. MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:29, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
@MatthewVanitas, Could you help me to Find Where in this reference has the Mention about Sambhaji's Sensual pleasure and Misbehave. There are numerous attempts by other users also to remove Controversial lines.
Article on Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj
[edit]Hi friend, I have observed that many people have tried to remove older, invalid references from the article of Sambhaji Maharaj which defame him.
But, 2 years ago, You were the only person who tried get the issue resolved through a constructive argument, and discussion. Although MatthewVanitas didn't agree to make those changes, still you gave your best to convince him. I really appreciate your efforts.
I am also an ardent follower of Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. I also tried to make some changes through constructive argument with editors such as MatthewVanitas, Bonadea and JonathanSammy but still they did not agree to my point of view. (You can view all those discussions on the talk page of Chatrapati Sambhaji's article).
Friend, I know you feel really bad when you see such defamation of our great beloved king. But I believe if we stay patient enough, we can definitely force a change in the article.
We will require a lot of new references about Sambhaji Maharaj. Which are not from novels such as Sambhaji and Chhava. Because wikipedia does not consider novels as an authentic source irrespective of their historical accuracy. I am trying to get access to references such as V.S.Bendre and Kamal Gokhle about Sambhaji. Which will give more strength to our argument.
If you get any such source then you please tell me about it. I have another new editor named Zeisteno2 with me who also wants to stop the defamation of our great king. If we go on building references and collecting them, then we will be able to force the changes in the article.
Even though we may not be able to force those changes in the main article immediately, I have started putting of new articles about Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's victorious campaigns and achievements. I have begun my work of putting his true history on Wikipedia. You can see them in the following link
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Battles_fought_by_Marathas_under_Sambhaji
Dear friend, I would like collaborate with you on the topic to make it sure that the true history of our king is put up on Wikipedia. I hope for your positive response and support. Thanks, cheers. Charvak157 (talk) 09:24, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
