Request reason:

Hello, I’m a new member on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a bit complicated. I just tested creating a new article and get lost. I don’t advertise for anyone. I love Wikipedia, therefore I want to contribute to the community. Could you please unblock my account? Thank you in advanceHironguyen (talk) 05:15, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You clearly have a connection to the Bagg company; you will need to read conflict of interest and paid editing. You will need to tell us what edits you will make now that you know you won't be permitted to, in the short term, edit about your company. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I just wrote that Bagg is a Japanese company. What is the conflict of interest here?! I don't know how to contact you @331dot. Hironguyen (talk) 09:12, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am following this page. What is your connection to Bagg? 331dot (talk) 09:29, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I work for Bagg company in Japan. So I want to update more information for the company. If this isn't appropriate, I won't write anything. However, I would like to request to unlock my account. Hironguyen (talk) 09:33, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As you work for the company, the Wikipedia Terms of Use require you to make a formal paid editing disclosure. You should also read conflict of interest. If you are interested in making edits that are unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what you will edit about in a new request. Once you have a good edit history showing that you understand relevant policies, you may later be permitted to indirectly contribute about your company, but not now. 331dot (talk) 09:44, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will also point out that some of your edits were instances of hijacking articles, which is very much inappropriate. I would also recommend looking at the guidelines on autobiographies and the general notability guideline. To sum it up, as one administrator once wisely said, if the only person interested in writing about you is you, then you probably aren't notable. The same idea applies to any group or company you are affiliated with. TornadoLGS (talk) 14:12, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean hijacking articles? I just edited my page and bagg page for testing, I wrote only 1 or 2 sentences. What you say is as confusing as the platform itself. Very difficult to use.
I believe that Wikipedia is platform for the true information, not notable information. My company's name is Bagg, headquartered in Japan. Is there anything wrong with me writing: "Bagg is a Japanese company?"
You guys are so bureaucratic and take excessive advantage of your powers. Hironguyen (talk) 14:42, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Both the pages at Bagg and Hung Nguyen are disambiguation pages meant to distinguish topics that may be referred to by the same name. You rewrote both to be solely about your company and its founder. You didn't just add content; you replaced it. Your are incorrect about the "truth" bit. The standards for Wikipedia are notability and verifiability. The vast majority of people (including most musicians/artists/entrepreneurs/etc.) and companies do not qualify to have Wikipedia articles about them. TornadoLGS (talk) 15:18, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not familiar with this platform, it's too complicated. I didn't understand the concept of disambiguation pages, so I accidentally deleted the previous content. I apologized for that.
I only wrote one sentence about Bagg being a company in Japan, which proves that I'm just learning how to use the editor feature. There were no other signs that I was promoting Bagg. Hironguyen (talk) 15:28, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read about conflict of interest and paid editing yet? You must make the paid editing disclosure. Wikipedia is not like other platforms. This is not social media where people tell about themselves or their company. Wikipedia wants to know what others say about a topic. At this time, we do not want you editing about Bagg or its staff or its field at all. Are there other topics you want to edit about?
Is English the main language that you use? If you speak Japanese you may feel better editing the Japanese Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 15:39, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I read the conflict of interest and paid editing. But I don't get it. I wrote "Bagg is a Japanese company". What is the conflict of interest of this sentence? Hironguyen (talk) 15:50, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's not the specific sentence that is a conflict of interest. It is the mere fact that you work for the company. For example, Joe Biden should not be editing the article about him. It doesn't matter what he might write. 331dot (talk) 16:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. May I know how to unblock my account? I can't edit anything. Should I create a new account? Hironguyen (talk) 16:13, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do not create a new account, that would be block evasion. While blocked, you personally may not edit. You need to make a new unblock request, just as you made your first one, for someone else to review. You won't be permitted, at this time, to edit about your company, so we will need to know what you will edit about instead. 331dot (talk) 17:24, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
