Jonathan Frid
[edit]Hi. I don't understand the meaning of your message on my talk page. Can you explain it? What do you mean by "this site page"? And in what way is anyone failing to respect the dead? As I understand it a number of multiple sources give one death date for Frid, and and a number of others give a different one. As a result, the editors involved in Frid's article have had to discuss the matter on its talk page to determine how to proceed. What exactly is the problem?
Also, can you sign your messages more clearly and easilby by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them, which also automatically time stamps them. Thanks. ;-) Nightscream (talk) 00:39, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
Wow, very fast return! I was talking of the link to the Frid story about his actual life in Hamilton, Ontario. The link had been changed over to something else.
It was there a few days back, but was somehow changed. I have shown you the link in my last message to you. It showed where he hung-out with his friends in Hamilton, Ontario.
Thanks-
(talk) Hired Ghoul (talk) 00:48, 25 April 2012 (UTC) Sorry. I am in work at a hectic time.
- Can you specify the diff in question? Nightscream (talk) 01:07, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Hired Ghoul. Got your message, and you're absolutely correct. As another editor noted today on the Jonathan Frid talk page, some anon IP snuck in almost eight months after Frid's death to make this unexplained deletion of WP:RS cites. Good eye! I'd advise keeping an eye, in fact, on that page — articles about science-fiction / fantasy / horror topics invariably suffer from obsessive fans who can be somewhat detached from mainstream reality. See Talk:Star Trek Into Darkness for an amazing recent example! --Tenebrae (talk) 17:21, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Why, thank you! How thoughtful! : ) --Tenebrae (talk) 00:17, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- No, no, I wasn't asking why. It was just an expression, like, "My goodness, thank you!" But it's certainly a pleasure to thank a considerate and thoughtful person a second time! --Tenebrae (talk) 20:56, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Mlpearc. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Kirk Hammett seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mlpearc (powwow) 23:22, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
You flatter me, sir. :-)
Personally, I think that article isn't large enough at this time to support two images, so I removed the photo. You can always put it back in there after you or someone else expands the article. I also removed all those line breaks you added to the article, as it didn't really look right; the convention is for one line break between paragraphs and sections.
Also, I think the issue of that photo's copyright status needs to be clarified, since it is identified on its upload page as Fair Use, but you added a note saying that it's in the public domain, while not removing the Fair Use tag. I left a message on the Commons Copyright Village Pump requesting their assistance. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 01:18, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- No prob. One thing though: Just so you know, you don't have to create a heading for each talk page message, only for new discussions or discussion topics. Let me know if you ever need anything again. :-) Nightscream (talk) 23:22, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

[edit]What exactly was the problem? Nightscream (talk) 01:11, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you.
Everything OK.
Hired Ghoul (talk) 21:27, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, were you just talking about how to add information to the link so that the saved link displays that info as its text? Nightscream (talk) 21:32, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
That is exactly right. But without asking too much from you.
You must get more than dozens of questions on this.
You always have an answer to everything on WIKI.
You are doing a great service for all.
Ron Haddrick
[edit]I could not find any article by that name. Are you sure you spelled it right?
Also, remember that new discussions go at the bottom of one's talk page. Happy Holidays! :-) Nightscream (talk) 22:53, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I did spell it wrongly! Ron Haddrick is his name ...
Sorry!! I got lots on my mind now.Hired Ghoul (talk)

- No worries. Just one thing: you don't have to create a separate heading for each message. All the messages in the same discussion can go under the same heading.
- As for the source, it does not look like it would pass WP:IRS. You'll also notice that the banner at the top of that webpage says that it is shutting down soon, and that its content is being trasnferred to Blogspot, which is a hosting site for personal blogs. It sounds to me like it's just a fan site, which would fail WP:USERG (which is part of WP:IRS). I would suggest that if there is a particular piece of information on that webpage that you think would make a valid addition to the article, that you try and find a more reliable source for it. Hope that helps. Nightscream (talk) 00:32, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, and Happy Christmas to you too! :-) Nightscream (talk) 19:57, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- Please read my December 23 00:32 message above. Nightscream (talk) 01:24, 24 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the recent help. I can see clearly what you meant now. Happy 2014! Hired Ghoul (talk)
Ace Frehley
[edit]If you want to write it out manually from scratch it would be like this (Please note that the nowiki tags and blue text formatting tags, which are only visible in Edit Mode, are not part of the citations, but are only used to ensure that the citation appears as blue plain text on your saved talk page):
- <ref>Giles, Jeff (July 10, 2014) [http://ultimateclassicrock.com/ace-frehley-space-invader-track-listing/ "Ace Frehley Reveals 'Space Invader' Track Listing"]. Ultimate Classic Rock.</ref>
That will cause it to appear in the saved article as a footnote in the article text, and the full citation in the References section.
Or, you can use a citation template. There are all sorts of cite templates at Wikipedia:Citation templates. (Make sure you bookmark that link). The most common one used for a website is the cite web template, which looks like this before you fill it:
- <ref>{{cite web|author= |title= |publisher= |date= |url= |accessdate= }}</ref>
The template should be filled with the following cite publication info, which each piece placed after the equals sign in the appropriate parameter.
- The author would be Giles, Jeff.
- The title would be Ace Frehley Reveals 'Space Invader' Track Listing .
- The publisher would be The name of the website, which is Ultimate Classic Rock.
- The date would be the date of the article's publication, which is July 10, 2014.
- The accessdate would be the date you viewed the source, which I guess is today's date.
Please note that there is no need to put quotation marks around the title when using the template, because the title parameter in the template automatically does so. It is also not necessary to include an access date if the citation already provides a publication date, though there are many editors who include both.
If you need to cite that source more than once in the article, use the WP:REFNAME tag.
For more extensive info on citations, see Wikipedia:Citing sources.
Btw, to add your signature to a talk page message requires four tildes (~~~~), not two.
Hope that helps. Nightscream (talk) 16:27, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to David Lee Roth. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mlpearc (open channel) 05:40, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Seriously, I have dealt with you before. But not like this. Why the threat? This is not right.
On other times we chatted. But now, you have changed.
I am just about the same age as you. Hired Ghoul (talk) 05:44, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
I find it intriguing that you've stopped talking. Is this how you act online nowadays? And I use to admire your work.
Punishment for posting?
Hired Ghoul (talk) 06:01, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have not stopped, I answered your question you left on my talk page about 20 minutes ago. Mlpearc (open channel) 06:05, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm only dealing with this now. Fully focused.
I don't understand the bad attitude. Not at all....
Okay- I'm trying to add this as a reference....

Hired Ghoul (talk) 06:13, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Here's the thing. Before I can go and add a reference, you take away what I've added.
I know, you've been doing this kinda stuff for 3 years now. You are the opposite of being beneficial to the site. You do realize this.
Hired Ghoul (talk) 06:33, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have restored your edit and added your reference in. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 06:39, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Hello. Yes, I know this site is your thing. I can dig that.
It's just - you are a pro with the way you go about doing things on here.
I have been outta the site for a few months or more...it seems.
I thank you for the needful help. It is appreciated. I will get back into it when I feel ready. Thanks.
You got a special knowledge.
Hired Ghoul (talk) 06:45, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
One last favor: Having trouble adding this to VAN HALEN article.

I don't have your expertise or patience.
Thanks!!
