Don't Template the regulars
It's perceived as rude. Have the courtesy to chat up folks, friendly-like. Template are for the newbies. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 04:07, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Irony at work. Bstone nominate DTR for deletion (I was aware of this, due only to the fact that I was around to vote for arbcom, and I was the initial author of DTR, and was thus, templated). I templated him for blanking something (which, by the way, he did). I'll follow the steps from Bstone's pet essay Template the regulars, which states "Know what the templates you use say, Choose an appropriate template, Make the message appropriate, Be prepared to stand behind your template." I did all of those things. Bstone blanked a page inapropriately, but he was not aware of this. I told him to not blank pages, and to use the sandbox to play with his twinkle "tool." I didn't use a higher-level template, because it was obviously an accident by an inexperienced user. I defended my template when questioned - in fact, Bstone had to get other people to tell him that I was exactly right because he wasn't listening to me.
- Eventually, Bstone broke down and decided to states "yet [DepartedUser] continues to claim I did something malicious." This is not accurate. A review of the discussion makes it very clear that I make no such claim. I template Bstone yet again, for assuming bad faith on my part (Specifcally, WP:AAGF.) If Bstone doesn't like being templated, perhaps he should stop trying to delete the essay telling people not to template the regulars. If User:DESiegel/Template the regulars is bad advice, perhaps it should lose it's soft redirect and get a note that it's bad, discarded advice at the top of it. Chop Chop. - DU, besides making a mountain out of a molehill, you have now also accused me be "to be fair, I'm also aware he's an alt-med pusher". I kindly ask that you explain this. Bstone (talk) 03:37, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
DU, I have come to the conclusion that Bstone is a rather confused person, and time invested trying to debate stuff with him is not time well spent. I also think he is harmless, since he does not seem to have any effect on Wikipedia except for moderate waste of time here and there. In that sense, it may be best to just let it go. Fwiiw, it was I who placed the soft redirect, and I agree it was probably a bad move and it should probably be deleted. dab (đł) 19:57, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
MfD nomination of Wikipedia:Village pump/ACFeedback
Wikipedia:Village pump/ACFeedback, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Village pump/ACFeedback and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Village pump/ACFeedback during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. â The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 21:18, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you for this. If you want to say something, be proud of it and post where all can see. I do not recommend posting a character attack at WP:RFAR. What things people say in an election are evidence of nothing. Jehochman Talk 14:38, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- I've modified my comment. Please read it, and if you adjust yours to be accurate, I will remove mine. Behind all the drama, WP:RFAR is really just a negotiation. To the extent we can work out differences ourselves, that is a good thing. Jehochman Talk 14:46, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Welcome back...
I remember you well. Happy to have handled your USURP request.
You're probably quite fresh still, having just come back and all that, but having looked at your recent contribs, I reckon there's potential for wikistress... permit me to recommend a peruse of User:Dweller/Suggestions for wikistressed editors. --Dweller (talk) 15:37, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'll take you up on your offer. Hipocrite (talk) 15:44, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Page merge
I've merged User talk:DepartedUser into this page so that it has a complete history; hope that's OK. Drop me a line on my talk page if it's not and you want this undoing. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 16:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Out of interest, why did you choose the name "hipocrite"? --T.M.M. Dowd (talk) 12:38, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm hip. Hipocrite (talk) 12:38, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, no. My edit was this, simple vandalism reversion. Hipocrite (talk) 12:46, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

- I am fundamantaly unabel to spell. I do not take it personally if people correct my obvious mistakes in speling. I am forced to use internet explorer at work which does not have a spell check and I wasn't going to copy that section into word until it was finished. Thanks for looking out for me! Hipocrite (talk) 16:49, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- You know, if you use the WP editor it underlines in red all suspect spellings. There's still one frusterated left BTW. Good luck. Cheers, Mathsci (talk)
- I think that's Firefox doing the underlining - at least according to WP:SPELL. Hipocrite (talk) 16:56, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, the joys of linux. :) Mathsci (talk) 16:59, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- The real joy is right clicking in Firefox and then it tells you how to spell the word. Jehochman Talk 20:30, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
