Locus.sh

Note that per this discussion on my talk page, I have restored the Locus.sh article and relisted its deletion discussion. North America1000 12:37, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Hey mate,

Out of curiosity, regarding your comment about OGRIND here; just so I understand, are you saying the author of that article is somehow linked to the company? NickCT (talk) 15:33, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Nevermind. I re-read your comment. I'm not sure the nature piece relies exclusively on interviews, but I agree it's not the best source. NickCT (talk) 15:42, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
NickCT, from ORGIND: Independent content, in order to count towards establishing notability, must include original and independent opinion, analysis, investigation, and fact checking that are clearly attributable to a source unaffiliated to the subject.
So, the source meets the requirements of "Functional Independence" in that Nature has no corporate connection with the company in question, but it doesn't meet the requirements of "Intellectual Independence" as I cannot discern any "original and independent opinion, analysis, investigation, and fact checking that are clearly attributable to a source unaffiliated to the subject" in the article. Fair enough. I think applying that interpretation strictly, we could probably exclude a whole bunch of references in WP. But anyways, I take the point and concede that it may not be the best ref for establishing notability. NickCT (talk) 19:56, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
NickCT, be aware this policy does *not* exclude using references to support facts within an article - these references only need to meet the criteria in WP:RS. NCORP (and therefore ORGIND and CORPDEPTH etc) are applied to references in order for them to meet the criteria for establishing notability. HighKing++ 20:24, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
Yeah. Appreciate there's a difference between supporting facts and supporting notability. NickCT (talk) 20:30, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for investing time in considering a discussion on Locus.sh

Hi First of all sincere thanks for relooking at the Locus page. I respect the research and time invested. Have carefully looked at the points of concerns raised by you. I would like to bring to your notice that Locus is an extremely respected and popular brand in India. The parent company is registered in the US, however, the majority of operations and customers are in India. It is a supply chain automation and logistics optimization company. The major operations are carried out in the Indian subcontinent and most of the coverages are by Indian publications though Locus is being mentioned/reviewed by premium publications like TechCrunch, The Times of India(ET), Inc.42, Business World, Business Standard etc. I have a humble request to please allow me a day to provide the facts and few references sources that you may want to consider. I assure you that Locus is not a 'run of the mill' startup but a team of highly skilled people trying to solve great logistics problems. We believe in earning a seat on Wikipedia and honor it, the deletion has left us with serious brand erosion and repercussions across our ecosystem of customers, partners, team and investors. Once again I do respect and understand where you are coming from and hence would try my best to explain in my reconsideration discussion document. Please allow me a day's time.
