Request for arbitration of Ireland article naming dispute

I have filed this Request for arbitration of Ireland article naming dispute and named you as one of the involved parties. I would appreciate it if you could make a 500-word-or-less statement there. -- Evertype· 19:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Noticed you were on wiki-break

So I figure I'd ping you here to let you know I tried to explain in depth my thoughts on the issue in reply to your question. I know how charged the environment is around this, I've worked to try to improve it for over eighteen months now. In some cases, I succeeded, in others, not so much, but we have to keep trying. ArbCom can't decide on content (I hope even the accepts have passed on the message that IF the case is accepted, it's not going to give a content decision). It can only try to promulgate the environment where the community will eventually provide that decision on its own. SirFozzie (talk) 20:40, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

That was quick. I've removed the wikibreak notice, thanks for the reminder. I'll continue the conversation over where I left the question - thank you. --HighKing (talk) 20:49, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

From (Matt's talk-page)

I'm guessing he'll follow your advice, if he un-retires (again). GoodDay (talk) 00:57, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Well I hope so! While we can all recognize that he gets wound up tighter than a spring and says some pointed things (we've both experienced them), we also recognize that he is actually pretty reasonable and fair and logical with an ability to get the community moving and keep it moving along (a rare talent), and the immature childish behavior we *all* experience on WP just makes him snap every once in a while...sort of a cumulative effect and he needs to discharge to allow the cycle to repeat. But asking him to avoid Ireland articles when he comes back implies that he has no value and his participation is not wanted - and I don't believe that was your intention... --HighKing (talk) 10:56, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
I just don't wanna see him getting into more 'block' troubles. GoodDay (talk) 18:43, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
And I just don't wanna see another valuable contributer being hounded away. --HighKing (talk) 19:45, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
He'll return. I don't see him as the type to pack'er in. GoodDay (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
It aint looking good HK, check Matt's response. GoodDay (talk) 00:09, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Don't start again! Unst is the most northerly inhabited of the British Isles, and therefore of the UK. There are many references stating that the brewery is the most northerly in the UK so, synthesis or not, it fair comment to state the obvious. Anyway, the statement was already made, I just linked it. You're not stalking me by any chance, are you? MidnightBlue (Talk) 21:28, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Against the terms of the agreement reached on "British Isles", you've added a new wikilink and violated that agreement. Furthermore, the brewery in question states on their website that they are the most northerly in the UK. This is one of the problems with this topic - and hopefully in the near future the task force will sort this mess out. In the meantime, please don't add more links - I didn't revert you either - I added a [citation needed] tag and a template pointing out that there were no sources for this article. --HighKing (talk) 12:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
