English Tudor

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edit adding "English Tudor" to the Tudorbethan architecture article. Unfortunately that was one too many for the "redirects here" template, and there's not an actual redirect page for "English Tudor" which would probably be as likely to refer to Tudor style architecture or other Tudor topics. Our WP:V policy requires Verification that terms are in use, and although your memories are appreciated, WP:NOR prohibits what's called "original research" and requires a reference to research by a source that others can check. Just to complete the main policy group, WP:NPOV requires a proportionate balance of different viewpoints where applicable. .. dave souza, talk 03:52, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just curious... what is different between your version and mine, besides the size, for File:WrightStateLogo.png? I see no difference, and the version I uploaded came from the WSU Identity Manual, which for some reason is listed in the file's "Other information" section. If there wasn't a difference, why upload a duplicate that is a smaller version of the one that is already uploaded? I don't have a problem with your version to the point of reverting it, but it just doesn't make since to me... Corkythehornetfan 19:09, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed the previous source link (http://www.wright.edu/images/logo/logo.gif) was dead, so I thought Wright State updated it. Sometimes, at least for me, I can't see what is updated in a logo (for instance, minor font changes). Also, the links I put in the "Other Information" section are just Wright State's policies on logo and other trademark use. --Hendrixjoseph (talk) 15:47, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just because the source in the box is dead, doesn't mean that the actual file is outdated. If you noticed, the most recent version was updated two months before you uploaded this version... since the previous upload was in 2011. As I mentioned above, it came directly from the Identity Manual for WSU, which was updated in June 2015... If the file doesn't need changed but the source does, then just change the source. I probably just forgot to update the source when I had uploaded the file. I just think you need to look closer when updating a file. Corkythehornetfan 18:12, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
