Advice

[edit]

Hi. Welcome, again. If what I am about to say seems discouraging, it is because I hope to save you time working on an article which I think is unlikely to be acceptable. I may be wrong, but this will help you decide.

Here are some important Wikipedia policies and guidelines you should read and understand:

  • Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true."
  • Linked with that is No original research - Wikipedia is not the place for first publication of anything new.
  • Notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. That means that anything newly set up is unlikely to qualify, but Wikipedia is not in the business of helping new things become well known, we only report on what is already established.
  • The guideline WP:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day, though mainly written for people who have invented a new word or a new drinking game, may also contain advice you will find applicable.
  • WP:Your first article has good advice on how to write acceptable articles.
