Game Revolution
[edit]Hello. I removed GR from the publications of note on Video_game_journalism as I don't feel it matches the required standard (being of note). IGN, 1UP, Gamespot and Gamespy are all well respected US-centric sites, Eurogamer is a well respected European site, I see no reason to add Game Revolution (which I hadn't actually heard of before I reverted your change) - it also appears to have the lowest search traffic when compared to 1UP, Eurogamer and Gamespy. An SPA is a single-purpose account, which I mistakenly thought your account might be (though your only non-GR edits appear to be related to poker). My bad. Thanks! Fin©™ 00:27, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I appreciate that GameRevolution may be one of the "most respected review sites", but that's not something you can quantify. The title of oldest videogame review website is also something that's rather dubious in nature - it's difficult, if not impossible, to prove. As an example (I haven't investigated how reliable this website is), urlfan.com lists 1up, Gamespot, Eurogamer, IGN and Eurogamer all within the top 1000 websites for blog references (I've no idea how this's calculated), Gamerevolution is down around 19,000. Maybe the visitors to Gamerevolution are intensely loyal, but it's nowhere near the level of traffic, and therefore, notability of the other sites. As regards the scandals, Gamespot's is over a year old now and regardless, they may impact the credibility of the websites, but not the notability. Thanks! Fin©™ 19:33, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
