Tunisian Version of ACA

[edit]

Hi Hedi0058

I have read your comment at the discussion page of the article arabic chat alphabet. It would be interesting if you add a section in the article explaining the differences you have in Tunisia from those listed in the table. If you need any help please be sure to post me at my talk page, I would be glad to help.

Invitation to WikiProject Tunisia

[edit]

Fellow Wikipedian,

I am a member of WikiProject Tunisia of the English Wikipedia. The aim of this project is to organize and steer the production of articles relating to the country of Tunisia, its cities, administrative divisions, geography, transportation, culture, history and so on. It aims to expand Wikipedia's resources on Tunisia in a fair and accurate manner in order to provide an accessible wide information about the country to the wider international audience. Unfortunately, most efforts are spent on the French Wikipedia leaving articles on the English edition poor and in a stub-status. This is mainly due to the lack of editors interested in the subject in the English Wikipedia, especially Tunisians who could contribute in English.

I am constantly looking for enthusiastic editors to contribute to the project. Thus, I want to invite you to join us in building this project and why not spread the word by distributing this call to people you know and ask them and contribute in whatever they can: simple contributions, translation from French, information about their regions and why not be an active member of the project.

The project page is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Tunisia.

Thank you in advance. Bestofmed (talk) 17:14, 5 February 2009 (UTC).[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link as you have at next to every passport article, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. Though the website you link does not appear to be too problematic, the way you have inserted it is clearly spam. If you wish, insert it at the bottom in the "External links" section, but be prepared that it may be removed. —what a crazy random happenstance 15:24, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Add it sort of like this, but don't be too surprised if it's removed. —what a crazy random happenstance 12:01, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is not what I had in mind. Your website is not authoritative or official, you cannot introduce it into the intro, especially in articles that deliberately have a short intro like Australian passport. You may link to it from the external links section, but that is about all, and even then it will probably be removed (by other people, not me). Did you even look at the link I gave you? —what a crazy random happenstance 23:26, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The rank is almost entirely irrelevant, what's interesting is that you have all the countries that the user can travel visa-free to. As long this information is not sourced from Wikipedia (is it?), the link can prove useful as a secondary reference. —what a crazy random happenstance 07:51, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The way you are adding it now is good. A few questions: do you own or operate the website? That's not a problem in itself, but you should be made aware of our WP:COI and WP:LINKSPAM policies. Also, are the visa-free countries on the page sourced from Wikipedia? Oh, and one last suggestion if you are the administrator, the US ETA and the Australian ETA are almost identical, yet the site lists the US scheme as visa-free and the Australian as visa-on-arrival. It also suggests that the Australian scheme should be done by the airline, which is a very bad idea. The Australian government (as does the US one) recommends the online registration is done by the traveller or his travel agent at least 3 days in advance, not the airline. —what a crazy random happenstance 01:19, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I added external links to doyouneedvisa.com a website that I'm maintaining and that I declared explicitly in my page that I'm maintaining. I consider the links I added as releveant as they provide additional information about visa requirement as passport ranking, border information and border ranking. In the past I did a mistake when adding a reference to my website and User talk:Happenstance advised me to do as I was doing now (adding external link and not a reference as my website is not an authority in the field). For these reasons, I want my account to be unblocked. Best regards

Decline reason:

You will not be unblocked to continue adding the external links that you were adding, which appears to be the implication from your unblock request. Smashvilletalk 22:30, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{Unblock|If these links that I added are causing trouble and are considered harmfull to the content of wikipedia, then I will obviously not post them anymore. I hope this was the only cause of blocking, and that now, I could get back my account. Sorry for bothering you, Regards|NJA (t/c) 10:22, 6 January 2010 (UTC)}}[reply]

I am discussing this block with User:Smashville and I would appreciate it if no one rejected this unblock request before the discussion is over. Thank you. —what a crazy random happenstance 07:38, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You guys are looking for Toddst1. I'm not the blocking admin. --Smashvilletalk 14:25, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, of course, whoops! Thanks, I've dropped him a line and thanks to Nja for putting the unblock request on hold. —what a crazy random happenstance 15:04, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I've unblocked you per your appeal. I have recorded in your block log that you should be immediately re-blocked without warning if you resume adding inappropriate WP:EL. Toddst1 (talk) 15:34, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
