Grateful for the very quick review. New to wikipedia content development.

This is supposed to be a biographical article on the consular mission chief of the newly created Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Utah. We'd be thrilled to learn how to address the concerns expressed in your review. the site www.portugalemutah.org and portugalinutah.org are, at this point, the strongest sources of biographical data outside of LinkedIn, and a few articles published in https://www.thechurchnews.com/ and on television shows in western Africa (Sierra Leone), and Portuguese television and radio, not referenced here.

This is a consulate mission, not a business. It is comprised of an Honorary Consul, Luis Camara Manoel, and his staff, comprised of two interns, Stefanie Camara Manoel (Luis' daughter), and Carolina Costa, her manager. I do question why you slapped me with a block for using the name of the consular mission, when your username is "orange mike" and another editor's name was "Safari Scribe"! Are those supposed to be real names as well? Rather than slapping a block on me, it would be great if you'd help me get this article (my first), to the level it needs for approval. This is not a business, it is a consular mission, a not-for profit organization-a diplomatic mission---- Zero money exchanged... we exist to serve the people of Portugal and their descendants in the State of Utah... We have a consular mission chief and two interns working on this page. EVERYONE is a volunteer, including the mission chief... To block this article on the basis of hiding a for-profit business is assinie! Articles are written by Stefanie Camara Manoel, daughter of the consul, for heaven's sake! Instead of slapping a ban on a new editor, because we use an unconventional name (never mind that neither editor users his/her own name either...), how about providing some useful help... Decline reason:

You were not blocked to "hide a for profit business". You seem to think that only a for-profit business can be promoted- anything can be promoted. I also don't believe that the Portugese government doesn't pay you to work in its consulate- maybe you think you need to be specifically paid to edit, but that's not true. I note that you claim to have personally taken and personally own the copyright to the very professional looking image of the consul general. If the government took the photo(I assume it's his official photo) and released it with the proper license then you need to immediately without delay go to Commons and change the copyright/author of the work accordingly. Your current username violates the username policy- "OrangeMike" does not. You haven't said how you will comply with the policies described in the block notice(specifically WP:COI) so I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:31, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
