Promotional edits

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Toilet cleaner ‎. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Kuru (talk) 15:46, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kuru thank you for you guideline about reference.

Hi. I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Sofie Börjesson under WP:G11. What on earth did you think constituted "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" in the revision you nominated, here? Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:44, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Ponce

[edit]

Mr. Havechin , the president of a legislative assembly is on per with the speaker of a parliament .Wikipedia as dozens of pages containing speakers of parliament. Therefore Mario Ponce is notable enough to be the subject of a Wikipedia article. Please remove the tag. Ppt2003 (talk) 18:00, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree, do not see any reason for speedy deletion - the tag should be removed. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:04, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Ppt2003 and CommanderWaterford, article Mario Ponce don't fulfil General notability. Please read General notability guideline. If you still think the page is notable, please explain on Talk Page.Havechin (talk) 18:09, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Notability does not need to be satisfied to avoid WP:A7, just some statement of importance or significance is all that is needed, and WP:GNG is not relevant to our speedy deletion criteria. I have declined the A7 request, and you'll need WP:AFD if you wish to make a non-notability nomination. As an aside to others commenting here, anyone can revert a speedy deletion nomination if they disagree with it, not just admins. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:18, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • And, removing sources to make an article subject look less notable, as you did here looks very much like disruptive bad faith. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:24, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletions

[edit]

Hi, a number of your speedy deletions are not valid. Please do not nominate anymore until you are familiar with WP:CSD. As a very new editor more experience is needed before jumping into deletion nominations, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 18:16, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I second that. Also, this is out of order, as that editor did not create the article. With the exception of the article creator, anyone can revert a speedy deletion nomination if they disagree with it - and you must not reinstate it. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mario Ponce II

[edit]

Being the president of a legislative assembly, which I mention again is equal to the speaker of a parliament, is notable to be a Wikipedia page. The Spanish Wikipedia has Mario Ponce, why the English Wikipedia can not afford to have it?? Let me give you an example, Mr. Havechin. Dear sir, there is an article in Wikipedia named Om Birla, who is the speaker of the Indian legislative assembly Lok Shobha. Aside from being a member of parliament and speaker of Lokshobha, he does not have other major achievements. If he is allowed to be a Wikipedia article, why can not be Mario Ponce. Ppt2003 (talk) 18:19, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The speaker of Ghanaian parliament is notable to be a Wikipedia page, so the president of legislative assembly of El Salvador can also be a Wikipedia page. The General notability guideline supports my argument. I think that there was insufficient data on my article. But then it can be recognized as a stub only, not an article deserving to be deleted. Deletion review for Lawrence Ypil

[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Lawrence Ypil. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Djm-leighpark (talk) 23:30, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion again

[edit]

Nothing here was at all promotional. Please take the advice given to you by two experienced editors above and stop nominating articles for speedy deletion until you have gained some experience of Wikipedia's standards by editing articles. Phil Bridger (talk) 06:30, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I endorse this request, please *stop* nominating articles for speedy deletion until you have more experience here and you understand the criteria properly. Please also take this as a friendly warning that incorrect speedy deletion nominations will not be tolerated indefinitely, as they can have a severely discouraging effect on article creators (particularly new ones).
