Disambiguation link notification for April 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Glenn Brummer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Texas Rangers. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Jaleel Johnson
[edit]On Jaleel Johnson, you reverted my edits. I will find a source later on when there is a more reliable one, but go to https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/ and go to All Teams, choose NO and you will see it. ReaganHoang10 (talk) 05:40, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Oh yes and after that press update ReaganHoang10 (talk) 05:40, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Or an even better link without instructions https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/new-orleans-saints/defensive-tackle/signed/ ReaganHoang10 (talk) 05:50, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
@ReaganHoang10: I cannot emphasize enough that you need to read WP:SPORTSTRANS. That page should make it crystal clear to you that you should not be editing pages to reflect transactions that have not been announced by official sources (no, I don't believe Spotrac counts). [edit]First of all Chris myarick was on the practice squad when the bengals won the Super Bowl therefore he won a Super Bowl. secondly it was announced per his agent that he signed with the giants MonkeyMan8013 (talk) 21:28, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- @MonkeyMan8013: First of all, "when the Bengals won the Super Bowl"? You're fucking with me, right?
- Second of all, stating that a player has signed with a team does not absolve you from having to provide a reference to substantiate that fact; please see WP:VERIFIABILITY (and perhaps WP:SPORTSTRANS. Hatman31 (talk) 23:23, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Miles Routledge
[edit]Hello, I have noticed that you have removed a link I have added to the Miles Routledge Wikipedia page. The link isba video from Miles Routledge himself, where he was giving a direct account of his time in Afghanistan, for which reason, I felt it would work as the best source, better than any newspaper, about his time in there, as its directly his own words.
Hence, I think it should be added back. I am not adding it back as of yet, as I wanted to hear your opinion first. GucciNuzayer (talk) 15:37, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary to include a link to the video in the article because there's already an external link to Routledge's YouTube channel, so if readers are curious about it, it's just a few clicks away already. If the video is included, it should be as an external link rather than embedded, per WP:NOTYOUTUBE. Hatman31 (talk) 17:08, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- oh okay, thank you GucciNuzayer (talk) 08:42, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

SosMula Controversies Section
[edit]My man, the rapper in question is a semi-underground and barely mainstream guy. There's no way you'll find news articles or big rap blogs covering his every move. This doesn't mean we can't document his life as it goes on given what all we have of him, which mainly includes social media as that's the key way musicians stay in touch with the world and their fans now. You are really doing the most by deleting actual hard work consisting of careful info curation and neat packaging just because you want to adhere to a stone set rule for an encyclopedia site that has too many issues of its own. Just drop the issue and let the page display the info because it's all factual and necessary to paint the picture of his career till date. Life isn't perfect and we can't have a ScienceDirect article to back each sentence we type so just relax and stop deleting. But if you want to be unchill then you can I guess, usually everyone on this site is itching to delete info or revert people's edits. 2001:56A:F471:5500:E54C:3998:1B29:16E3 (talk) 09:34, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

Yes, this is a great explanation of why he's not entitled to a Wikipedia article. Hatman31 (he/him · talk · contribs) 18:15, 13 September 2024 (UTC)- Wow, what a way to nitpick one little line from all I said and use that as some AHA! Gotcha moment.
- If I can google his name and see a whole array of things about him from over the years and the mark he's made in the music industry, then YES, he DOES deserve a Wikipedia article.
- My point is that the super intricate details about his journey which won't get/somehow didn't get picked up by blogs (such as a heated back-and-forth on Instagram with another artist) but did get saved and archived by the fans, still deserve to get mentioned on his page. I even provided supporting links to the entire exchanges but you disregarded them outright.
- You deleting that entire Controversies piece is simply censorship no matter how you coat it buddy. Use all the arbitrary rules and policies you want, but at the end of the day, that entire writeup was full of information about real events that did transpire and you deleting it whole just brought you one inch closer to embracing censorship. And I know you really want to embrace it fully with how you're suggesting that his page doesn't even need to exist in the first place so go ahead and embrace it, why not?
- Just remember though - in days, weeks, months, and years from now, I will still be able to google SosMula and see all he's accomplished and the mark he made. But I'll google "Hatman31" and nothing but obscure wikipedia janitorial badges and digital accomplishments will pop up if even that.
- Best to you in your future undo/delete/edit/omit/censor endeavors! 2001:56A:F471:5500:3CD8:DDF5:C148:4898 (talk) 18:23, 17 September 2024 (UTC)

SPAs
[edit]Greetings, Hatman31, hope all is well in your world. I noticed that you removed the two SPA notices from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joan Murray (art historian), which I had placed to alert the closing administrator. I'm not upset whatsoever about your reversion, however, I want to explain why they were placed on that specific AfD, which I do not think was "inappropriate" as you had described them in your edit summaries. Gbaby99 showed up out of the blue with a total of 4 edits total, never having previously edited the article in question before today, the chances of a brand new editor finding an obscure AFD out of the blue is unusual to say the least (I'm speaking from the POV of someone who has been working at AfD consistently for many years. The other editor, Ninjafusion, has made a total of 28 edits total, and what is equally unusual, is not only have they never edited the article, they have not edited at all in the past 12 years except to vote at that AfD. I find this behavior questionable, which is why I added the SPA templates. Please explain your rationale as to why you felt the addition of the templates was "inappropriate" given the historical editing patterns of these two editors. BTW, just so you know, I don't do "drive by" tagging, I think things through before making such edits. Thank you in advance, and all the best, Netherzone (talk) 23:55, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Netherzone,
- I don't disagree that the participation of those accounts is unusual, but I called the SPA tags inappropriate because each account's activity fits into a pattern that, according to WP:SPATG, should disqualify them from being tagged. I'm reasonably confident that the closing administrator will give those votes appropriate weight, but it would be fair to ask the accounts how they found the AFD.
