License tagging for Image:Von arnim.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Von arnim.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Count László Almásy in Eastbourne

[edit]

Just to let you know that Count László Almásy was not removed from the Eastbourne article the other day. In order to get our Good Article status, we had to convert the list of other notable residents into prose. To make this easier, I moved the names to other sections. Count László Almásy is now under Education where the last paragraph describes some notable people who were educated in Eastbourne. MortimerCat 20:07, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

File:Photo13.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Photo13.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Photo13.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. License tagging for File:Esh 4444 St.Petersburg.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Esh 4444 St.Petersburg.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:06, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HELP WITH AN ARTICLE I SUBMITTED

[edit]

I submitted an article entitled

"Haapamäki Steam Locomotive Museum"

I want to change it to

"Haapamäki Railway Museum"

Harveyqs

I presume that you mean Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Haapamäki Steam Locomotive Museum. I think that the issues in the pink box at the top should be dealt with first. Once it's been accepted, and is in article space, it may be renamed using the method described at Help:Moving a page. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:25, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your article has been moved to AfC space

[edit]

Hi! I would like to inform you that the Articles for Creation submission which was previously located here: User:Harveyqs/Haapamäki Steam Locomotive Museum has been moved to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Haapamäki Steam Locomotive Museum, this move was made automatically and doesn't affect your article, if you have any questions please ask on my talk page! Have a nice day. ArticlesForCreationBot (talk) 16:11, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok can you re name it please, or just create a new one and paste in the info. Or I will make another article with the correct description. More information will follow this week as I do my research. But they have more than steam locos. They have diesels now you see

SORRY!!!

Please don't either "create a new one and paste in the info", or "make another article with the correct description", see Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves for why not. See also my reply in the previous section. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:28, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is adding the list of museums where you might find examples of the relevant locomotives at home in Russia an irrelevance? Sorry I do not comprehend your logic at all. It is not SPAM I am English and I work in Construction and no one pays me for this. I just have an interest in Russian steam locomotives. I wish to spread knowledge and I wish people with the same interest to find sources of knowledge. I am not advertising ANY commercial organisation. I have knowledge and I contribute quite a number of photos.

Haapamäki Locomotive Museum Association

Please can this page be reviewed again

Harveyqs

[edit]

It is a problem because you are adding links to article which have no specific reference to the article you are adding them too.

eg an example http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=2ES10&curid=28962745&diff=497998395&oldid=497977306

What relavence to this locomotive do the museums have? Is the locomotive in the museum. ? No.

What about Rizhsky Rail Terminal? why is this rail terminal special of all the rail terminals in russia?

Please read Wikipedia:See_also#See_also_section for guidelines.Oranjblud (talk) 17:17, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My reply:

It seems VERY strange to me that you have not noticed that Rizhsky Rail Terminal makes reference to:

"As well as being an active rail terminal it also houses the Moscow Railway Museum."

There is even a photo of a preserved class O locomotive on that page.

That page also contains an External Link to this website:

http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/trains/russia14.htm

Moreover, a internet search will tell you that there is the Museum of the Moscow Railway and the Moscow Railway Museum. In fact wikipedia will tell you that! It is clear that one is at Rizhsky and the other at Paveletsky Rail Terminal. There are 2 Railway museums in Moscow. Both have substantial collections and research material. Rather typical I think for museums in a capital city. All of which will be helpful to the reader and researcher. You will find photos of the contents of these museums on Wikimedia Commons and on the internet generally, you may be surprised to find that CONTRARY TO YOUR ASSUMPTION Rizhsky Rail Terminal has an example of most types of Russian locomotive. WIKIMEDIA COMMONS EVEN HAS SOME PHOTOS!!! In fact it is the second national museum after a Varshavsky Rail Terminal. The museum of the Moscow Railway has models of most type of Russian locomotive, something which is blatantly obvious from the wikipedia site that I constructed. There are plenty of photos of such models.

So why criticise when you clearly have not been anywhere near Moscow and I in fact live here?

Why accuse me falsely of somehow spreading SPAM?

Why talk about irrelevance when the relevance is blatantly obvious from the material already on wikipedia.

IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO DONATE PHOTOS AND INFORMATION I SUGGEST YOU START ADOPTING A CONSTRUCTIVE, POSITIVE AND OPEN MINDED ATTITUDE TO THINGS YOU CLEARLY KNOW LITTLE ABOUT. Finally read the information which is on wikipedia before criticising and falsely accusing people of spreading SPAM

I AWAIT A FULL AND COMPLETE APOLOGY.

I'm sorry you take offense to having your additions referred to as 'spam'. Again please read the guidelines given in the links. If there is a realistically close link between a modern locomotive and a railway museum, or any given rail terminal in Russia, you haven't explained it. The see also section is for articles directly related to the topic, which are not linked in the article. The section is not for links to topics related simply by being about railways in the same state.
Oranjblud (talk) 19:53, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MY REPLY

I was also offended because you clearly did not bother going to the Rizhsky Rail Terminal and fiunding out t6hat it is more than just a rail terminal.

Again I refer you to

Whether a link belongs in the "See also" section is ultimately a matter of editorial judgment and common sense.

You seem to make a very rash assumption that National Railway Museums have no relevance to modern trains. I suggest you visit the National Railway Museum in York and see the fact that your assumption is wrong. Also providing people with sources of further research is in fact very relevant.

Emperor railway station, Pushkin town

[edit]

I wrote this page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Emperor_railway_station,_Pushkin_town

It has received this notice

This article needs attention from an expert in Russia. The specific problem is: The article needs a proper title, can not identified because of non-English sources. WikiProject Russia may be able to help recruit an expert. (July 2017)

I speak Russian, I currently live within a kilometer of this building, the content is basically the same as the French and Russian pages, the sources are taken from the Russian pages, the title is the same used for the category "Emperor railway station, Pushkin town"; and I provided many of the photos.

So is this notice needed?

May I please suggest that you read WP:GALLERY before persistently adding galleries of images to the articles where they are not really needed. Thank you.--Ymblanter (talk) 02:45, 10 August 2017 (UTC) For the Assumption Cathedral the Gallery was unneccessary but a gallery of the frescoes at the Saint George Cathedral Staraya Ladoga would benefit the article[reply]
