Notice

The article Dia Taylor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article needs more sourcing to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Nnadigoodluck 01:19, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Paul Dawber, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bony. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dia Taylor, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.starnow.com/diataylor/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Asartea Talk | Contribs 05:59, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, Wikipedia isn't the place to start off promos, it's to cite things that have already become well-known - in Wikipedia jargon "notable" "Wikipedia:Notability"

[edit]

Hi Harry, and thanks for your contributions.

Mate, the English language Wikipedia's policies and guidelines are complex and often difficult to understand. I have been been around here for 15 years and am what is called an "Administrator" and I still sometimes get in strife about them.

I'll do my best here to explain. Let's start with Wanda & Sully. It is mostly sourced from Facebook pages and IMDb, neither of which assist an assertion of "notability for movies"

If Wanda & Sully had been reviewed by, let's say The Age or ABC Radio National, it may meet the "notability" criteria for movies.

Speedy deletion nomination of Scott Day

[edit]

Hello HarryLime1949,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Scott Day for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Comments relating to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines

[edit]

Almost all of us, when we start editing Wikipedia, know little or nothing about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, so nobody can be blamed for starting out doing things that are contrary to policies and guidelines that they don't know about. However, you have made another edit which comes under Wikipedia's so-called "conflict of interest" guideline, after receiving a message explaining that guideline to you. Please read the message above about it, and if you want a more complete account of the issues involved then here is a link to the full guideline. Also, make sure you take note of the other information posted above about Wikipedia policies. Editors who continue to edit contrary to policies and guidelines after being informed of them may be blocked from editing by administrators, and I am posting this message in the hope of helping you to avoid that. It is clear that much, and perhaps all, of your editing is on topics where the "conflict of interest " guideline applies, and it also looks as though you may be here for the purpose of promotion. That being so, it is particularly important for you to take care to be aware of the relevant policies. JBW (talk) 12:49, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
