Speedy deletion nomination of User:Haroldwonder
[edit]
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Haroldwonder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Uhai (talk) 08:35, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Uhai. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Onevest have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Uhai (talk) 08:35, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of John Ida Paul
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on John Ida Paul requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 08:56, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, Ghost. I will contest this as I believe strongly that this individual meets the criteria for being here. Haroldwonder (talk) 17:41, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit]
Hello Haroldwonder. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Haroldwonder. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Haroldwonder|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:19, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! I do not have any established contact with any of the names mentioned in the article. It is not a paid project. It's interesting to see there's a paid policy. I hope to write about companies in tech who make important contributions to society. Haroldwonder (talk) 22:29, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @DoubleGrazing. Any chance you've reviewed my reply yet? Haroldwonder (talk) 17:14, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- I have seen your reply now that you pinged me. Okay, so you're saying you don't have a conflict of interest. That's great, and thanks for responding. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:23, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you @DoubleGrazing. You are kind. What do I do next now that I have made the edit? Haroldwonder (talk) 22:15, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ping Ping @DoubleGrazing Haroldwonder (talk) 16:55, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, what do you mean by "what do I do next"? You can continue editing the draft, which has been declined for failing to show that the subject is notable, as well as for being promotional in nature. You therefore need to focus on addressing those issues. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:59, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. Just needed to be sure as you mentioned I shouldn't attempt to resubmit without answering your question about receiving a compensation. I've noticed the promotional part of my writing and I have edited it as it is actually irrelevant to the subject at this time. @DoubleGrazing Haroldwonder (talk) 17:02, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
