Again, welcome! !dave 13:10, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell us what you were trying to do with that template, and now that it is blanked, it should be tagged {{db-g7}}? Thanks, !dave 13:12, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you !dave.
I am trying to develop a Bot which notifies Wikipedia articles when images associated with them are nominated for deletion in commons. For that purpose I tried to create a template to display the message in article's talk page --Harideepan (talk) 13:19, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You blanked it however; does this indicate you are not going to use it any further, and thus, I can or you can place {{db-g7}} on it? !dave 13:23, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I actually tried to reuse a template from fr Wikipedia but it has too many dependencies. So I decided not to use it.
I am new here so I don't know about {{tlx|db-g7}. Can you explain what is it?. --Harideepan (talk) 13:28, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
{{tlx}} is just something that allows a link to a template and for it to show in a code-like style. Template:db-g7 is a speedy deletion template, that alerts an admin that you as the page creator wish for it to be deleted. I see that you have already placed it. !dave 13:40, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help request on bots/APIs

[edit]
I am developing a bot which notifies Wikipedia articles when images associated with them in Wikimedia Commons are
1.nominated for deletion
2.deleted
3.Nominated not to be deleted
How can I detect that an image is deleted from commons after nomination? Is there any APIs available for that?--Harideepan (talk) 11:17, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds like a potentially useful bot. Your request for assistance is quite technical, so I would advise you to discuss your proposal at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard where I'm sure you will be more likly to get the advice you seek. I assume you have already read this important advice page: Wikipedia:Bots? Regards from the UK. Nick Moyes (talk) 12:54, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for your response Harideepan (talk) 12:57, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

I have a doubt. When an image in commons is decided not to be deleted after the deletion nomination has been closed, will that image removed from the Category:Deletion Requests or will it remain in that category?

Harideepan (talk) 04:58, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Given that there are no sub-categories older than December 2017 and that a random selection of images in that sub-category that I checked were all still subject to deletion discussions, I don't think images whose deletion discussions end with keeping the image are still included in that category. There are categories such as Category:MobileUpload-related deletion requests/kept which obviously has discussions that end in "keep", but it seems that category indeed has discussions, not the images themselves. Hi,

all bots must have approvals, and bots should run on their dedicated accounts. Please use a bot to do the bot task. Also, there's a bot by Wikimedia Foundation that will do the same thing. Thanks. — regards, Revi 09:26, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Indic script

[edit]

Information icon - Please do not add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Tiruchirappalli, as this contravenes WP:NOINDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 17:03, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
