Ways to improve This Life Is All We Have

[edit]

Hi, I'm The Cosmos Master. Hanznolo, thanks for creating This Life Is All We Have!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article needs references.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. The Cosmos Master (talk) 18:16, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Cloudkicker may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • * ''[[Let Yourself Be Huge (Cloudkicker album|Let Yourself Be Huge]]'' (2011)

Deletion discussion about A New Heavenly Body (Cloudkicker EP)

[edit]

Hello, Hanznolo,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether A New Heavenly Body (Cloudkicker EP) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A New Heavenly Body (Cloudkicker EP) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Benboy00 (talk) 14:48, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Invade (Within the Ruins album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Creature (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:51, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:AFTER THE BURIAL 2013.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (tc) 18:43, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:After The Burial Band Members 2013.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:After The Burial Band Members 2013.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:56, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as John Shertzer Hittell. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:11, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Thomas Lumisden Strange has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Notice

The file File:John hittell.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Memory Palace

[edit]

I reverted your edits to Memory Palace because the subject fails WP:NALBUM. Please do not hijack redirects in this manner. Chris Troutman (talk) 00:50, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How can I restore the page and make it titled Memory Palace (Intervals album)? Or are you implying we should delete all Intervals album pages? I wasn’t trying to hijack anything. I was just trying to create an article for an album that’s coming out. Hanznolo (talk) 02:44, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why? I don't see why it matters that a future album will be released. Chris Troutman (talk) 05:04, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You do realize there are pages for future albums that come out this year right? Hanznolo (talk) 11:37, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That you saw other articles like that is not sufficient reason to make one yourself. If a subject does not meet notability criteria then Wikipedia does not have a standalone article. You can develop the subject in the article about the musician and then move the developed subject into a standalone article. Per WP:CRYSTALBALL, Wikipedia should not be predictive as an encyclopedia is a trailing indicator (not a leading indicator) of notability. I know well the excitement that one feels in drafting new content but that's something you should do in your user sandbox, not a redirect. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:04, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear, is your issue that I mistakenly did a redirect? If so I can create a new article titled Memory Palace (Intervals Album). Or is it that the album is not notable enough? Are his other albums? When it releases am I allowed to create a page for it? Hanznolo (talk) 23:54, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Notability is the only issue. When you write, please show us that the subject (in this case) meets either WP:NALBUMS or WP:GNG. If we don't have evidence for notability, then the standalone should not exist. At the risk of repeating myself, WP:SPINOUT describes developing content one edit at a time in the larger topic article and then spinning that specific content out when ready. That way, you don't have to start from scratch. Everyone following the main topic sees that content is developing and can participate, and content still under development is available to the reader on the larger topic article. Looking for sources to meet WP:42 always has to be a first step in creating a standalone article. The redirect location was the correct place for the standalone article to be. My point there is that if the location is a redirect, there must be a good reason why that is so. Chris Troutman (talk) 01:47, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are sites that have announced the album. I’ll create a page for it given its notability and if it gets deleted then I guess I’ll create it again when the album releases since his other albums also have pages. Thank you for explaining. Hanznolo (talk) 02:25, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
