Requested move

[edit]

Hello, please change the title of Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute to Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute & International Center for Persian Studies. It is the official title on their website: dehkhoda.ut.ac.ir/en Amirrima1 (talk) 11:17, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Amirrima1: This very famous Iranian institute has long been known as "Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute" (and, especially in recent years, as "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute"). So, what you mentioned is true, and your request is also reasonable; but, since we usually don't mention long titles on the namespace, let the short title and then the full name be mentioned at the entry, i.e. on the lead. So, I will do some changes on the lead. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 17:35, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. Hamid Hassani, I think your editing was a bit complicated. As you mentioned, it is better to have only the page title of "Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute" and the rest of the editing should remain as it is. Of course, in Wikipedia, it is common to write a full and long title on many pages and it is seen. What you said is reasonable, but in any case, I think only the title of the page should be changed, And no other change is needed. With respect Amirrima1 (talk) 18:55, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Contribution Debate of Jophiel

[edit]

Hello, Hamid Hassani, this is Mreci1, and it's been awhile. I want to talk about the article page of an archangel named Jophiel. A user named Archangel53 made changes of Jophiel as he explained that angels are neither male nor female. Even though it's true, but most of the angels' names sound male while some are female. I changed the article page back the way it was because I don't think it counts as misinformation if the angels' names sound either male or female. However, Archangel53 changed it the way he wanted again. Mreci1 (talk) 00:36, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Merci1: Hello. I understand what you mean. I suggest you raise the issue on this public page and/or on the talk page of the articles you want. Good luck. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 03:45, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Respectfully it’s in the photo.

Look at his latest photo in Instagram. under “My echo that will not end” His wife Marjan changed his birth year to 1945. It’s a reference now. Everyone who knew him knew it was 1945 anyway. So it needs to be changed back. He was not 69. He wss 77Kkenya (talk) 05:31, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It has been wrong for years. On all wiki’s. It’s a mess but no worries. You’ll see. Cheers. Nowruz piroozKkenya (talk) 05:33, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kkenya: Thanks for your message and Nowruz greeting. But his birth year is 1954, and I'm certain that 1945 is a misspell. 1954 comes from the A.H. Shamsi (formal, main Iranian calendar) year of 1333. — Cheers, Hamid Hassani (talk) 06:03, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
His wife has now corrected two sites, his official website is the latest. He was the same age has as my wife’s father. You were polite and I salute you. I am not going to change it. You will have to at some point. Also I understand about shams but someone will say “just ask his wife marjan”. Her you go. Regarding the article of Mahabad in English wikipedia

[edit]

Hello Mr Hamid Hassani. i hope you are doing well. one quarter ago i tried to edit the article of mahabad, but the article is locked and it is not possible to be edited. i have prepared a well sourced and good information about mahabad and the text is ready to be inserted to the wikipedia article of mahabad, i refer to you to solve this and i ask you to write the article of mahabad becasue you have extended access and you are the only person i know who have extended access and experience in editing articles in english wikipedia. if you like you can go visit the articles of marivan and kamyaran also in english wikipedia, i added much information about the cities. i could edit them because the articles was not protected in contrast to article of mahabad. again i ask you to please add the information i send you in the next message after this, and you can control it if there are any error or any lack of source. i send you the text and the only thing you have to do is to insert the text and information in the article. thank you in advance. --Zana piranshahry1 (talk) 07:46, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

here the information which is sourced and i ask you to be added to the mahabad article: Demographics: Language: The majority of the people in Mahabad speak the Sorani dialect of Kurdish.[1] Although a very small minority speak Azerbaijani.[2] Religion: The predominant religion in Mahabad is Sunni Islam, however there are a small number of Jews and Christians in the city.[3] There is a also a minority of Shia Muslims who have migrated to Mahabad from other cities.[4] The majority of the Shia Muslims, whom comprise about 2% of the city, speak Azerbaijani.[5][6]

Employment: In 1977 the employment rate of the city was 95.8%, much higher than the provincial average of 86%. However after the Iranian Revolution of 1979 the employment rate fell and reached 88.8% in 1997.[7]

Transportation: By road, Mahabad is 122 kilometres away from the provincial capital Urmia, and 679 kilometres away from the country capital Tehran. Railway: In 2013, Mahabad was connected to the national railway and a 40 kilometre route between the city and Miandoab was established. The project was inaugurated in the presence of then president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.[8] Bus system: In 2000, the Mahabad bus service was inaugurated with five buses which operated three routes within the city. By 2007, the number of buses had reached 39 which operated nine routes. [9]

Sports: The biggest sports complex in Mahabad is the Azadi Sports Complex. The complex has a football ground which was built in 1973, a 2,000 seat covered arena, a wrestling hall, table tennis complex, weightlifting hall and a gymnastics hall.[10]

Volleyball: Volleyball is the most popular sport in Mahabad[11] and the city has several teams playing in the different levels of the Iranian league system. Mahabad's rise in volleyball dates back to the 1990s, when Farmandarie Mahabad became champions of the Iranian first division (second tier). In 1995, the team then went on to finish a record fourth in the Iranian Super League, however the team was dissolved only shortly after.[12] Farhad Piroutpour is the most successful player to have come from Mahabad, he has been a member of the Iran national volleyball team since 2011.

In 2012, after two decades, Farmandarie Mahabad was re-established and began competing in the Iranian first division. In 2013, another team by the name of Shahrdari Mahabad was formed and started competing in the West Azerbaijan Super League.

--Zana piranshahry1 (talk) 07:48, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

here is another part of the text which you can add

Culture: The prolific translator into Persian, Mohammad Qazi came from Mahabad. He translated more than 70 important literary works into Persian. Some poets and writers have hailed from this city in the 19th and 20th century. Wafaei(1844-1902), Hejar (Abdurrahman Sharfkandi)(1920-1990), Hêmin(Sayyed Moháammad Amini Shaykho-al-Eslam Mokri)(1920-1986), Abdorrahamn Zabihi (1920-1980) and Giw Mukriyani, all from Mahabad, are considered as the main writers and poets. The first Kurdish-Kurdish-Persian Dictionary in Iran was written by Hejar. Kurdistan's national poet was the title given to Hejar(along with Hêmin) during the short lived reign of the Republic of Mahabad in recognition of his poetry's service to the cause[1]. After the fall of the Pahlavi monarchy in Iran in 1979, "Hêmin" set up the Salaha-al-Din Ayyubi Kurdish publishing house in Urmia, which publishes Sirwe (from spring 1985), a quarterly cultural magazine that Hêmin ran until his death in 1986 [2]. The dialect of Mahabad, is adopted as the literary standard of Kurdish language in western Iran.(which is very close to the standard "sorani" used in Iraqi Kurdistan)
