Welcome and Paid Editing

[edit]

Hello, HRCPublicAffairs, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

It appears as though you may be engaged in paid advocacy, such as for your employer or on behalf of a client. If you are, you must disclose that fact. Please read WP:PE and especially the section at WP:PAYDISCLOSE for more details. agtx 15:43, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to my attention HRCPublicAffairsWorker (talk) 18:44, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:HRCPublicAffairs, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Drm310 (talk) 16:35, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did use the contest this speedy deletion link, thank you HRCPublicAffairsWorker (talk) 18:45, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --HRCPublicAffairs (talk) 16:39, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Public Affairs Office did not originally create the page. My intent is simply to update outdated information. I am not very familiar with editing Wikipedia and my intent is not to violate any guidlines. If I did so, please feel free to delete the page.

Your user name

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "HRCPublicAffairs", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to represent a group rather than an individual person. Shared accounts are not permitted. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. --Diannaa (talk) 18:27, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I requested a name change, thank you HRCPublicAffairs (talk) 18:37, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You have not requested a name change, please do so here, or your account will be blocked for the reasons stated above. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 04:34, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
