Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four halfwidth tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:00, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestion

[edit]

Leave the AFDs alone completely. Stop challenging editors. The aggressive combativeness you're displaying will lead editors to assume that you've proposed these AFDs for reasons other than the betterment of the encyclopedia, and *that* will push people to !vote Keep even if they had no previous interest in the subject. No editor has to explain himself. People are allowed to !vote whatever way they want, and badgering them only makes them think you are the problem, not the article. --NellieBly (talk) 06:26, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I will. HHaeyyn89 (talk) 18:46, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I came here to offer similar advice. Your heart is in the right place, but you are making the same mistake I made here many years ago: getting emotionally involved in the AFD process. I left for a year, and now I'm careful to not make the same mistake. This includes staying away from AFDs about topics I have political type feelings about. Hope you stick around, because you care about what you do, but AFDs about things you care passionately about might not be a good idea. Dennis Brown (talk) 02:01, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice. It's really frustrating getting ignored as someone is not even trying to communicate as he cites his own article and removes my concerns. Two of the "sources" don't even say the same thing. HHaeyyn89 (talk) 02:04, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He is an experienced editor, so he will be given the benefit of the doubt in the short run. One of the lessons I have learned over the years is to argue my best case, carefully expressed, the first time. Arguments get weaker the more you use them. I even wrote an essay (with help later) called Don't bludgeon the process that covers this, mainly for myself ;) Dennis Brown (talk) 13:47, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

I appreciate your taking a moment out to give me that heads up about your quoting me in your conflict of interest submission. I see from the other comments here that you've been given wise counsel (and, to your credit, are willing to accept it) regarding the whole Billy Hathorn thing. As you obviously saw, I too once did regular battle with his articles in the AfD arena and likewise eventually came to regard it as just not worth my time or aggravation. So allow me to reiterate that above advice, but in so doing, also note quite sincerely that I completely understand your motivation and know exactly how you feel. Hi, my closure there was only for procedural reasons as the user that closed it didn't quirte close it correctly so I simply reopened it and closed it again without any specific consideration of the closure. The user you need to ask this question of is .. User:Ebe123 - regards, Off2riorob (talk) 11:41, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at it, it doesn't look like it qualifies for WP:NAC non admin closure as its a complicated discussion. You can request admin closure in this situation, if you would you like me to assist in this I will. Off2riorob (talk) 11:46, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

note - I have requested re-closure by an administrator here,User_talk:Postdlf#non_admin_afd_closure regards. Off2riorob (talk) 12:01, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for that. HHaeyyn89 (talk) 19:24, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
