Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:47, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm new to Wikipedia, so I'm sorry if I'm voilating the rules. I'm trying to add information af about a non-profil patient organization for HAE patients and caregivers and link to the website for further information. How can I do this without violating the rules? Thanks so much. Smiles, Rikke :-) HAE International (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Speatle. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Hereditary angioedema have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Speatle (talk to me) please ping me when replying to something I said. 15:10, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

- Wikipedia is not a promotional platform. Please find another way to promote your organization. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:21, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
- To add to Jamie’s comment, per WP:ORGNAME, your username is not acceptable as it appears to promote a brand or company. You can create a new account with a different username that follows the guidelines in that link’s parent article. Also, as I’m presuming you either work for or are otherwise related to HAE International, you need to declare your conflict of interest on your new user page (you can use either {{UserboxCOI}} or {{Paid}} for this, depending on which applies the most to your situation). You should then try to stay away from editing all articles that relate to your employer (this would include Hereditary angiodema), as even if you tried to edit in the most neutral way you could, some bias might slip through. If you do want to edit on those articles, use the

template on its talk page.Speatle (talk to me) please ping me when replying to something I said. 19:45, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
