SBCA v. FCC group
Greetings, have you had any contact with the student working on this project? I see no evidence that the two of you have been working on improving the article. The student is working alone and could really use some support. What's your plan? Jaobar (talk) 21:35, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- I am watching the page and looking as they edit. I will be adding more hints on their talk page. It would be nice at times to get some feedback on what they need, don't know, can't find, can't understand, etc. I am really shooting in the dark with this --Guerillero | My Talk 21:47, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- I will do my best to add some suggestions online, but is a challenge with so many groups... this is why I was hoping that mentors could provide assistance. One thing that can be added right away is one of those boxes that appear on the right side of the page that summarize the case. Know what I'm talking about?Jaobar (talk) 21:51, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- I am adding a thing about that on their talk page right now :P Both of my parents are professors so I hear about this often. I think the feedback thing has less to do with you and more to do with the student(s) telling us whats happening with their article and we need to hover over people a bit more. --Guerillero | My Talk 21:58, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Thanks again. By the way, should I be using some sort of function so that you don't have to leave a note on my page every time your respond? I guess I should just be adding this page to my watchlist after I leave a message? That the strategy?Jaobar (talk) 22:07, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yep the only way to do that is put it on your watch-list. At first I thought this was being argued in for of the supreme court. I don't think there is an info box for lower court opinions --Guerillero | My Talk 22:56, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

See WP:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles: "Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases. Members of two notable bands are generally notable enough for their own article." Of the 3 sources provided, one is the anti-flag website (fails WP:RS - not independent of subject), and the other two are short interviews regarding the band anti flag. As for the article, it consists of two sentences and a discography of the band. Not worthy of an article and redirected as per WP:MUSIC. Trust this explains it. An image question I am not sure about
Hello my friend.
An editor has asked me about an image upload. I am not sure about the answer. Can you steer him in the right direction? I will direct him to commons help, so check his contribs to see if it's already sorted out.
I missed you at IRC. In response, I'm all up to date with the image uploads. I was actually able to upload a 300kb file yesterday. I was surprised. What I did before was upload a low quality version, then upload the full resolution version to http://www.stashbox.org/. Then I post on my talk a Help Wanted ad to upload newer version. That makes it easy for kind editors to help out. I bugged you with the maps because I couldn't upload even a 1 kb file. But now I can. So I will go the help wanted route next time and bug you that way. Much easier. Double thanks!! Anna Frodesiak (talk) 16:18, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- I will watch your page --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 00:16, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi. :) I see that you've tagged the article on this videogame for close paraphrasing. I'm not sure if that's because you have the manual and noticed the issue yourself or because of the note left at the article's talk page in 2008. I asked the person who left that note, but he isn't exactly around anymore. The close parphrasing lists the article at WP:CP and will continue to relist it until it's removed. Do you have access to the manual yourself? If so, it would be tremendously helpful if you could help me figure out the scope of the problem. If not, I may ask at the Videogame wikiproject to see if I can find somebody who can help me close out this listing. I'll be watching your talk page in case you are able to clarify. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:30, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Greetings Moonriddengirl. I do not have access to the manual; however, the copy vio I posted about comes from its website. (I would link to the pages but I can't because its flash based.) Sections like what I Removed here were only a few words off of the respective sections of the web page. I should have checked the other parts. I have a bad feeling that the best way to deal with this is some TNT. cheers --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 22:34, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you very much. That's very helpful. :) I'll go check it out. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:46, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Bonjour Guerrillero, I read your message on Laura's talk page. I thank you for offering your help and your assistant, it is very kind. For the women ice hockey, Maple Leaf and I let us complete the work, but for the other sports, I shall not can. I know a little the women Soccer(Football) and the women Basketball (but no expert as in the ice hockey. Maybe can be that my father and my young sister will help me for the banner soccer/football and banner basketball).): There is many sports where there are banners to be completed.

If you will working the banners of differents sports (except ice Hockey and soccer-football). If there is a problem, you can write me on my page. I am available to help you.--Geneviève (talk) 09:36, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
also two another drafts:
- User:LauraHale/Good Topic (Maple Leaf and me, we have to end the list for the ice hockey)
- User:LauraHale/Women Sport Portal Article Athlete Birthday List ( Maple and me, we do not have finish the list of the women players of hockey. There are many pages wikipedia. We are in this work at present...)
Thanks and Look I of your news onto your work. Because we are in Teamwork --Geneviève (talk) 10:06, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Bonjour, comment allez-vous? I will see what I can do on the birthday calender; Also, Mia Hamm looks like it could become a GA with some polishing. I may try to do that. cheers --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 02:49, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
It's nice doing some Friday editing with you, but . . . ....
you just removed a gallery from Wainwright Building and I am wondering why? That the images exist in commons is no reason to not have them here. This section of the article concerns its self with ornamentation, the pictures (each worth 1,000 words) show what it looks like. Please expand on your rationale for removing then. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 23:46, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hey. I remove the gallery because commons is the host collections of images. WP:Galleries does allow them its normally best to have them with the text. They are great images, , but how many GAs have galleries. cheers --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 23:59, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for getting back so quickly. When I clicked on your links I found this, " However, the use of a gallery section may be appropriate in some Wikipedia articles if a collection of images can illustrate aspects of a subject that cannot be easily or adequately described by text or individual images. " It seemed to me that this was what I was doing. And sorry, what is a "GA"? I'm an old guy and not so up-to-date and this sort of short-cut. Carptrash (talk) 00:04, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry for my shorthand. A GA is a WP:Good Article cheers --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 00:32, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, well that could have to do with who is rating the articles? I suspect that my idea of what a GA and yours might turn out to be quite different. Mine, for one thing, would have more pictures. Carptrash (talk) 01:23, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Here is the GA view of images:
- "Illustrated, if possible, by images:[6]
- (a) images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content; and
- (b) images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.[7]"
- It seems to me that the images at Wainwright met them all. Carptrash (talk) 01:26, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- I am slowly integrating the images into the text. (I agree with you that they are needed). I have two journal articles from EBSCO about the building that may be helpful to expand it enough to add in a few more. The images add more cuppled with the text. Instead of debating over the placement of the images can we expand the article then try to place a good number of them into the text? --Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 01:32, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Expanding is always good. I too will see what I can discover. And G, you have acted in a fine, principled manner. This is how wikipedia is built, one opinion, one idea, one direction at a time. We both feel that we can make this a better article and I suspect that we can both be right. Carptrash (talk) 02:49, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

My daughter is getting her PhD at Purdue, her theses being something like "Gender and Punk Rock". I recently got together with her in Denver where she was presenting a paper on Straight edge. It was the first time I'd heard the term, but now I see that you know a lot about it. My daughter? All my attempts to get her to edit wikipedia have been in vein. So far. What was your question? Carptrash (talk) 04:43, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- I don't understand what you are asking--Guerillero | My Talk | Review Me 06:14, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Sorry. "What was your question?" is a line that old people say when they ramble on about nothing in particular and can't figure out why. There usually is no question. Carptrash (talk) 14:07, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

DYK for West Washington Street Bridge (Muncie, Indiana)
On 17 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article West Washington Street Bridge (Muncie, Indiana), which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the design of the West Washington Street Bridge in Muncie, Indiana was inspired by the work of an American Civil War engineer who built military bridges? If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
