Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:CAMSlogosm.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:CAMSlogo.jpg. The copy called Image:CAMSlogo.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 20:02, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Coalition
[edit]That article you are working on needs 3 things:
- A purely descriptive tones as appropriate for an encyclopedia--not like a press release.
- References to articles in newspapers, magazines, etc. describing your work--web is OK but not a blog.
- You must remove that long section quoting from the work. It's fair use in the US, but not in some countries. Alternatively, you need to formally release the material under the GFDL license. See WP:Copyrights for details. It has to be the GFDL, which permits even commercial use, & the formalities have to be followed.
I strongly suggest you do all three of this very fast, because someone might tag the article for deletion within a day or so. Best wishes with it.DGG 19:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Coalition Against Militarism in Our Schools
[edit]I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Coalition Against Militarism in Our Schools, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. CAMS updates and questions
[edit]I am not sure about the process here...how do I contest a deletion? How do I remove the "{{prod}}" heading?
My reason for contesting deletion is simply that students often use CAMS as a resource when writing papers on current events of note. I believe it would be helpful to have an objective account of CAMS in Wikpedia, Of course I am a member of CAMS and so do have an inherent bias but tried to make the original as non-biased as possible.
I appreciate all the editing done by everyone and DGGs comments. Thanks!gsotir 00:18, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:CAMSlogosm.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:CAMSlogosm.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.militaryfreeschools.org. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 01:25, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:CAMSlogosm.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:CAMSlogosm.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:37, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
