I have sent you a note about a page you started
Thanks for creating Pero Mićić.
User:Doomsdayer520 while examining this page as a part of our page curation process had the following comments:
Thank you for this new article, but note that other editors have pointed out that it reads like a press release or even promotional material from Mr. Mićić himself. This is against some Wikipedia rules, particularly WP:PROMOTION. For pointers, follow the links in the notice at the top of the page. If this issue is not addressed, future reviewers could call for the article to be deleted.

- @Doomsdayer520: Hi Doomsdayer520 - I already wrote to the wall of the user who posted the template on the page: "I was quite astonished to find the brick "PR/Sensationalist" at the head of my article on Pero Mićić, which is an exact translation of a german article which has been existing for a while now. I would like to find out which passages you think read like PR or are somewhat sensationalist? I'd be quite thankful for your explanations here as I am not a native speaker of english and have just started editing in the english WP (I have more than 1000 edits in the german, though). Mićić is a renowned professor, author and CEO of a company in Germany with many links to US organizations and Universities. Which passages would you omit or rewrite in order to make it sound less sensationalist or PR-like? It would be so helpful to have some suggestions here where I should change something! Thanks a lot for your help in advance, I really appreciate it!" - So the german WP article is here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pero_Mi%C4%87i%C4%87. What kind of changes would you suggest - as I merely took the material I found on the web to include more english references and information on Micic. I'd be really thankful if someone would point out the incriminated passages! So I am not Pero Micic, I can assure you about that point. At least not when I woke up this morning... --Grizma (talk) 16:42, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- I did not say that *I* found it too sensational/promotional, but pointed out that someone else made that claim in case you were not already aware of it. It is possible that the original German article was also too promotional and nobody noticed over there, or something was lost in translation. In any case, I was not aware that you have already discussed the matter with the person who made the claim. If they do not respond in a useful way, there is not much that you really need to do. I can go through the article in more detail to remove any troublesome prose, and that might resolve the issue. I should be able to do this sometime next week. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:03, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520: That would be soooo awesome, thanks a lot! If you have any suggestions where I could provide some more information, let me know! Original german page exists since 2009 and quite a few people have gone over it in the meantime... --Grizma (talk) 20:16, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- I was unable to get to this until today, but I have cleaned up the article a bit and I think the problem is now solved. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:54, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520: Purrrrfect, you did a good job! It's so tedious how different the various worldwide WP's work. Like position of pic, structure of article etc. It's impossible to get it at once, I guess! This was very helpful - do you think it's possible that I ask you a question every now and then if I come across a difficult problem in the english WP again? --Grizma (talk) 20:21, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, you can ask me questions in the future. Also, if you choose to specialize in translated articles, those count as NEW here and are detected by the New Pages Patrol. I am with that team and you may find yourself being contacted by others on the same team, and they would all be happy to help. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 00:09, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Doomsdayer520: Great, good to know! --Grizma (talk) 09:21, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
Editing with a possible conflict of interest
Hello, Grizma. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See WP:PAID.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--SamHolt6 (talk) 12:45, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- @SamHolt6: Dear SamHolt6, honestly, I have no idea what you are talking about. I translated a long existing article from the german WP which I've helped to enhance with resources there - because it was the most likely one to be relevant for the english version and so I gave it a try. Why would this put me in a conflict of interest? So, instead of various users plastering my discussion page and the article page with templates - what about some help with a polite remark what exactly seems to sound advertising in the article and/or active editing help? As you can well see on my user page I am neither an english native nor a native in the english WP - whereas I have about 2000 Edits in the german WP. I'm quite astonished. I was seeking advice a while ago, but the possible mentor I picked seems to have vanished from the ground of the earth, obviously the mentee program page is not too up to date. Disambiguation link notification for February 2
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ser Anzoategui, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Better Things (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
